I agree, however every time Cotchin plays like he did in the 2nd half of the Dogs game I wander if his hammy is moments away from from snapping.

And without him who will storm the gates?

In our current setup he’s almost irreplaceable.

Been watching last year's Grand Final. Who pops up everywhere? Prestia, Lambert, Cotchin, Bolton and Edwards.

How can we play the same with those players missing? We can't.

We're not out of it if we can get them all back and firing. Easier run home than we have had up to now, we're still in this.

DS
Agree DS, those players are vital and we are a completely different team with them in fit and firing.

The added bonus is they've had forced rest so if the injury gods are on our side, they will be full of run in the finals provided we get there.

2018 taught us a lot...there's no point busting a gut to finish on top. Being "Minor Premier" is such a crock. I can't help thinking how the Dees and Dogs will be tracking a month off from the finals. You can't sustain peak form for 25/26 games.

8 out of 12 at the G, and still to play Freo, Ess, Adel, St K, GC, Coll, Haw, LOLNorf

It's us v them all over again...exactly how we like it.

Spot on.
Don't listen to the fken media.
Clues less *smile* sticks
Take gawn and Petrecca out of Melbourne for 5 weeks and see happens.
Let alone Oliver and May.
Footscary are the only ones that cover injuries because they get the help from the weasels every week.
On all footy shows last night it showed Bompmytelly running and kicking the goal.
Pity Libba the dud just threw it to him.
They were bragging they were playing like the Harlem Globe Trotters, they were they were throwing the ball every time they got there hands onto it.

Hey Nico. You mentioned fit and firing.
If they come back this weekend they are sure to be pretty rusty, not fit and firing.
Hope I am wrong, but they have had pretty serious injuries.

I dont think any side THIS YEAR is good enoughh to win 4 games in a row in the finals

Hey Graystar1, they will certainly be rusty and will take a month I reckon to hit their peak like Prestia and Shedda did last year (losing to the Lions and getting an extra final into them was actually a blessing in disguise). If they are fit and firing from say R15 onwards, look out!

Here is the latest assessment by those who are all seeing and all knowing.
It is a bit worrying though if they are correct.

We didn't finish in the top two for any of our premiership years.

Top four would be good, and the % is a worry - scores from turnovers are explainable with our starting midfield out for a lot of the season. Some things to tighten up for sure.

We need to get some big wins when we play weak opposition. The StKilda win was a real bonus but such big losses to South Melbourne and Geelong are going to hurt us.

DS

We play Norf and Hawf in the back end with a hopefully fit squad and we will flog the suitcase out of 'em.

not unless you've saved your best football for September and your key players are fresh
This could be true, BUT i dont think the tigers * this year) can carry that out,

I think this year teams have put a lot more planning into the tigers game plan, and despite the obvious injuries, im not sure that will be enough ( if you guys finish outside the top 4)

Reckon if we can jag 5th or 6th and play a Sydney/GWS like team at home in an Elimination final we might be chance (with a full side).
Dogs/Melbourne/Geelong in the top four will be useful as it will mean most if not all of our finals will be at the G anyway.

The five teams we've lost to are currently sitting 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and we've beaten 1st, so on paper we are not travelling all that bad.
