Noah Balta - Welcome to Tigerland

Seems to have coped ok with Sunday's pre game write up the Age fortunately.
Hopefully he's being guided through handling the focus which will continue to rise!
As has been proven a thousand times before, the journos love to build'em up to smash'em down. (Charlie Curnow straddling this territory as we speak)

Balta has more impact on our team than anyone else on the list.

His versatility means that he can play every single position on the ground and dominate.

He is an oppositions coaches nightmare.

If he continues at his current rate of improvement he will be a top 5 player in the league within 2-3 years.

Absolute superstar in the making that needs to be signed up asap.

YES! Good to see many are now recognising what this brilliant young player brings/offers.

So you don't think we should send him down back permanently, tell him to just punch and spoil so he can turn into a dour career defender!? (like some on PRE?)

OR, you don't send a V8 Supercar out to plough your paddock. Noah Balta is an attack beast who is starting to frighten seasoned opposition players in his first serious year of AFL at 19 y.o.

Sign him up urgently. Eddie could be lurking around St. Albans with his dirty big cheque book as we speak.

How is his confidence with ball in hand. Goes for worm burning missile kicks like he's Darren Jarman! Hope he never goes into his shell even though he occasionally doesnt pull it off.

You can't blame him, Caesar. Just smart as you say. But that Age article emphasises his strong loyalty to family ... and the Tigers are now a big part of his family. Hopefully wants a good, but fair, deal.

Lucky we didn't have Pick 1 in 2017 we might have wasted it on Cam Raynor ;D

An exercise in hindsight, what players, (if any), inside the top 25 would you draft ahead of Balta? I only have Jaidyn Stephenson, Aaron Naughton and Tim Kelly in the conversation.

2017 AFL Draft
Round Pick Club Player
1 1 Brisbane Lions Cam Rayner
1 2 Fremantle Dockers Andrew Brayshaw
1 3 Carlton Blues Paddy Dow
1 4 North Melbourne Kangaroos Luke Davies-Uniacke
1 5 Fremantle Dockers Adam Cerra
1 6 Collingwood Magpies Jaidyn Stephenson
1 7 St Kilda Saints Hunter Clark
1 8 St Kilda Saints Nick Coffield
1 9 Western Bulldogs Aaron Naughton
1 10 Carlton Blues Lochie O’Brien
1 11 GWS Giants Aiden Bonar
1 12 Adelaide Crows Darcy Fogarty
1 13 West Coast Eagles Jarrod Brander
1 14 Sydney Swans Matthew Ling
1 15 Brisbane Lions Zac Bailey
1 16 Western Bulldogs Ed Richards
1 17 Richmond Tigers Jack Higgins
1 18 Brisbane Lions Brandon Starcevic
1 19 Gold Coast Suns Wil Powell
2 20 Richmond Tigers Callum Coleman-Jones
2 21 West Coast Eagles Oscar Allen
2 22 Geelong Cats Lachlan Fogarty
2 23 North Melbourne Kangaroos Will Walker
2 24 Geelong Cats Tim Kelly
2 25 Richmond Tigers Noah Balta

What happened to Fogarty, from the crows?
Everyone was saying he was the next big thing.

The doggies did really well with McNaughton & Richards
Geelong with Kelly
Higgins, CJ and Balta looks the goods too.
But what was Stkilda doing??

Raynor looked good early so i wouldn't write him off. Brayshaw is a turnover merchant.

We've smashed that draft.

Would let Balta ruck back half and centre only & have Caddy compete up forward.
Its a big no to Choi ..

Chol no way. He was shitful on the weekend.
Rather us beat them with an extra runner in the side.
It’s not Grundy, Cox or Nitnat will are coming up against.
Rain is predicted for Saturday night anyway
