A coupla Riolis there.

I've seen Salem and Kelly play school games for Brighton Grammar, very good footballers left footers who generally play off half-back. Could both push for a draft spot in the draft after the next as are currently on in Yr 11 , with Kelly tipped to be close for top 10 after winning the APS BGS B&F for a year 10 kid last year. Willie Rioli is another that could be worth drafting, very quick forward with great athletic ability's, his body size may be his only issue with him getting drafted or not.

Just got this off twitter too:

AFL Half-time in the NAB @AFL_Under18s: Northern Territory 7.5 (47) leading Vic Metro 3.9 (27) at TIO Stadium #nabaflu18s

A few years ago I had a go at doing some coaching in the U16 NT championships and so I have seen a few of these boys play. I don't recognise all the names but some I do.

Willy Rioli was an absolute gun then and a legend to the other players('Willy, Willy'). They all loved him. Great to see him in the bests, one to keep your eye on.

The other one who was actually in my team was Sam Autio the full-forward. At that stage he was a stringbean 6'2" ruckman/forward for us. A real leader among the players and a very likable kid. Was supposed to go to GWS but never made it. I had heard he had gone off the rails so it is fantastic to see him playing in this side. In my inexpert opinion he looked a real AFL prospect, the kind of player who has heaps of time no matter the situation.

Reading back through the story I also realise Jed Anderson was talked about in the story. He was also in my team. He is the brother of Joe Anderson who was on Carlton's list a year or two back. When he was in my team he was obviously a gifted player but prone to a bit of lairising. But, whatever, great to see him doing well too.

Apart from the Tigers winning yesterday, this win and the story have really made my day. Go NT! Go the Thunder!!

Any news on goal kickers for Vic Metro.

Tom Boyd who played FF is under age (Played U 16 last year) and has the height & build of Jonathon Patton.

Has kicked plenty of goals for Eastern Ranges this year in a side that hasnt won a game.

I remember a Billings that played with StKilda & Oakleigh in Billy Barrot's time.

Reckon he might have been on the bench in their 1966 premiership.

Later played in a VFA Oakleigh premiership, with Billy Barrot.

has anyone watched this game?
one to keep an eye for the NT is Louis Egger. Mate of Gibson Turner and he is down playing for Coburg.
He was a chance to be drafted last year but missed out.

a write up by one of the NT coaches says:
Louis Egger, Federal FC, 5 June 1993, 184cm, 74kg
Louis played in a few of our games last year and got invited to the draft combine. He had a hand injury in the last three games of last year's nationals, but he's moved to Melbourne for university and has been playing with the Coburg Tigers. He's a super-competitive mid-sized utility and played in the NEAFL grand final last year and was one of the best players.

To further blur the difference in quality between Div 1 and Div 2 teams, QLD at home defeats WA.

Western Australia: Taylor, Ramsay, Garlett, Lynch, Hogan

And Vic Country just manages to hold off a fast finishing NSW.

Boy the Crows have done well. Just pocket Brad Crouch for next year.

It's as good a get as Joe Daniher for the Bombers.

Wasn't it meant to be a super-draft this year.Maybe some of these Vic Metro & WA boy's aren't as super as they think! :)

Mentioned this kid last year & I reckon he will be watched closely this year, explosive type & had a couple of years to acclimatise to the weather down south.

Going off reports from last year, the crow eaters will produce some quality stock this year.

Dunno, if it is, I am keen.

Yep seen quite a bit of Matt. Definitely not as good as Brad but is a well balanced player who racks up getting possessions. Loves the hard in and under stuff for a kid who isn't incredibly built and has a lot of mongrel in him.

What are his skills like?

Just been been watching my sons school footy championships - year 8. Daicos' son is in the team. All I can say is collingwood will have sweet father-son pick in 3 or 4 years.

At least PRE will get Evo Jnr under the poster-son rule.

Is Daicos' son bigger then everyone or just better? When a kid is the same size but miles better, fair chance he will get a shot at the big time.
