Very underrated the big lug. Doesn't get a mention in the so called top ruckman in the league conversation. But combined with his aggression & around the ground work he is up there in my opinion with them.
Stanley was doing well in the first half. 20 hit outs in the first half and only 9 in the second.
Nankervis lifted and Stanley crumbled after that.

Not the best ruck, not as tall as many who are going around now, but a huge heart and makes the most of his abilities.

"Best ruckman" really is subjective isn't it? If you're looking for a big clearing hit out or a HOTA and nothing much else, they sure go for NicNat or Gawn. If you want a competitive workhorse who's great on the ground, tackles like a midfielder, good food skills, a good mark, smart at dropping in to holes in defence and competes well enough in ruck contests then you can't go past our Nank
Love the big fella, earlier in the year many people on this site said he was done, over taken by soldo and injured, now possibly 3rd option and should be traded or de listed.
I along with a few others said no way, imo he is still our number 1 ruck, very different to Soldo... Prelim he showed why he is different and so important, another mid who fearlessly fills the holes down back in crucial times.

There are advantages to having 2 different types of ruck too, Soldo and Nank is a good balance. Pity Ivan is out for a year.

Agreed. Soldo was often a better option against the opposition monsters like Natanui.

Nickerty Nat, Long Gaaaaawwwwwnnnnnnnnnnnnn, Grundypants phhhhht. More than happy with the on field integrity n beast mode of our Nank the Tank. Pure head down n point the arse to the breeze honest n courageous footballer is Nank.
Nank and Soldo is the best ruck combo in the league. Just good old fashioned no frills ruckmen that give everything for the team. Heart and soul. I bloody love them.
Ad Balta as a pinch hit ruck and we have the greatest 3 headed monster of all time
It's been a hard fought battle. It's the start of the last quarter of a grand final. Everyone is playing on heart only. There is no AFL ruckman I would rather have than our Nank. He has played a lone hand so often.

This provides a chance for CCJ to perform when he gets back and Chol in the early games. We need games into these two guys, unfortunately Solda's injury will provide this for them. 2021 make it your year go CCJ & Chol
Nank is a dead set warrior. If he's lowering his colours in the first half, you know he will turn it around in the second half.

we saw the need at the end of 2016. Nank was hungry to play, the swans gave him to us for next to nothing. Now the swans pick up a 'second in line ruckman" while we have a truly warrior who gives all for the team and his team mates whilst wearing 3 premiership medals.
