N Browns body language

Looks like we won't be getting a 2nd rounder for Browny. ;)

Irrespective of that, I've always been puzzled by the need to annouce delistings (potential or otherwise) before trade week. Almost seems like they need to be seen to be doing something...............

How do you expect the guy to look?

He has been told before the game that this is his last match with the Richmond Football Club.

He knows that this could well be his last AFL game despite the fact that he wants to play on? Would you expect him to look rapt about life.

Do you think that you would put in a great days work if you were told that you would be finishing up in your job at the end of today? How would you feel if you were in Brownys shoes?

No wonder his body language isnt great.

Don't like being ruthless but why was he played?????

Why did they tell him before the game?

Possibly because they knew it would de-stabilise him and the rest of the team and with that we would be guaranteed to get pick3 perhaps?

it was a brilliant plan to throw players off their game, can't claim they tanked if they genuinely play like *smile*

Browny - my kids loved you and I will always remember those 5 goals against the Pies - all the best for whatever comes next.

A bulldog supporter on SEN tonight said Brown played his final tonight.

The Karma Bus didn't forget about his actions.

He's not my favouite player, but I thought given the situation he was in tonight his body language was ok

Having heard Brown (& Coughlan) were playing their last games last night for Richmond it was dissapointing.
Whilst the news seemed inevitable, there was only one aspect to the decision that baffled me.
With Hardwick appointed as coach on Weds when did Brown & Coughlan find out they would not be on Richmond's list next year?
Who made the decision and on what grounds?
If this decison was made by anyone but our new coach Hardwick, then this would be extremely dissapointing.
It would be even more painful to think the decision was handed down by the likes of a Gale, Cameron or March. Highly unlikely you would think, but then, who else can pull some tough punches at the club (without a coach)?
Again, if these decisions were not made by the new coach, I would strongly recommend the Melbourne City Council assess alternative developments for the corner of Brunton Ave & Punt Rd. And "you" should assess a full list of alternative lifestyles away from the RFC.

This club is disgraceful.

Cameron for sure. He's the list manager after all.

The cull has begun with the slow players first then hardwick will target the unskilled.

I couldn't care less what Brown and Coughlan's deficencies were. It appears a playing list decision was made and the coach wasn't the one handing down the decision. You might argue the decison process took place over the phone or within 24 hours after the coach was announced or before the players boarded the plane for WA. Whichever way you look, the process is terrible.

I would have thought the soft players would have been the first to go under Hardwicks win the hard ball motto.

Near impossible if the coach isn't involved in the process!

i disagree. and in a big way. hardwick imo should have little to do with recruiting or list management, a say yes.
i keep on saying it but the club should have a firm path in place to build the list after the review. they need to implement the processes to go down that path.after that review they should have a damn good idea of who has to go.
hardwick imo is just one small process in the plan. we had an all encompassing review why have it at all if it does not set out the strategy to build the club, and the processes needed to get there.

brown and coughlan were clearly washed up and had to go. no slight on either player both have been good players. it was not hardwicks decision to make. as a club we keep on putting all the eggs in one basket hardwick is not the messiah he has his job to do and the listmanager head of footy and recruiting officers have theirs. they should all be on the same page with the same brief of what is required. when will people understand.

Here here Claw - the good news it looks like they have a plan and a clear direction on where they are headed. These players were great players when at their peak and got paid very very well for their service to the RFC.

I think Claw is correct. In addition, the heirarchy would have impartial information from the detailed player analyses conducted during the prospective coaches' interviews
