Membership 2021 - What does it look like?..

My daughter got her AFLW medallion in the mail last week and the $40 voucher by email today.

No sign of mine yet though.

Figure it will turn up, all I want is the member scarf.

Looks like there’s no way to order scarves unless you do it individually so $9.95 postage each. Haven’t tried to see if you can get them in store but if you can then you can’t use the voucher so $20 each. It’s funny because we had no issues paying for two premium reserved seats last season and again this season but this is pissing me off.

You can see this being a mess. Just like ordering the premiership merchandise.

been crying out for a beanie as an option for years, we finally get one last year. Even though they were terrible, not happy to see them gone this year

My 1 yr old got the tiger toddler beanie. Was a great score in the mail ...along with a soft footy, not suitable for 0-3 yrs of age - makes me laugh everytime we play with it.
Beanie was good quality and would love an adult option.

Spoke to the club and pointed out that it felt like members were being taken for granted. Obviously their view differed but they changed out 2x $20 codes for a 1x $40 code so that we only had to pay one lot of $9.95 postage. That said, I ordered the scarves at 11:30 Thursday morning and they were delivered before 11 on Friday, so less than 24 hours.

$9.95 was local postage in Australia? I hate to think what it's going to cost to ship overseas. Last year they shipped 3 membership caps to SE Asia for $10 postage

Got the email yesterday, (4 of them for 4 family memberships) tried to log in, no members choice link i could see to redeem scarves or caps. Tried to call, spent 10 minutes + on hold, got sick of waiting, sent email, still no reply.
Still no reply.

From a mate of mine...the pies seem to make a bigger deal of membership milestones

The quality of this years scarf is terrible! Cost cutting I get... but surely some level of quality is important!

it’s that cheaply made I don’t think I’d wear it...

I haven't noticed it is any worse than the last few years, they always seem to use some cheap nylon or something. I'd get one of those woollen scarves but I am not crazy about any of the designs, and they charge too much for them. I'll persist with the member's scarf (only has to last one year) along with the tartan one I got years ago until that falls apart - it ain't made from decent material either.

My brother is married to a Bombers supporter. They have two daughters; the oldest is a Bomber and the youngest a Tiger. They have both been members since a very young age. He says that every year the membership pack that the Bombers send absolutely *smile* all over what we send.

The dealings I have had with our Membership department have generally been very good over the years. That said I think our member packages and recognition seems pretty lame in comparison with other clubs. I don't particularly care about it (my membership is really to support the club and get game day access) but it is definitely something noticeable to kids.

Reckon we can do better in this area.

Yeah, the membership pack was a bit underwhelming this year, not even a lanyard.

I have found dealing with issues that the staff have been very helpful, but they need to just add a little to the stuff they send us for being a member - nothing expensive just a bit more to keep people interested.

I know 2021 was messy but I hope they bring back the lanyard and fixture fridge magnet back.

What do Essendon send?

He was only referring to the kids membership packs and to be honest I can't recall exactly. I just know that he has mentioned on quite a few occasions over the years how much better the Essendon pack is than the Richmond pack.

The kids pack was pretty good!

A footy, a good quality Beanie, and a jigsaw. And a membership card.

I don't care what I get as a member so long as the money I spend is going to the right areas to make us a more successful footy club.
Every year when the survey comes out I say as much. I don't need any more yellow & black landfill.

I like a jigsaw for a kids membership.

More than sympathetic to less landfill, but things you can have as a keepsake, like membership cards are good.
