Anyone else get a bit off a rush seeing the old fashioned to do yesterday? Reminded me of a bygone era.

King is an antagonistic little bugger but he should have been awarded a free kick when those three scumbags jumped on top of him.

Most pleasing aspect for mine was that many of the younger guys flew the flag and came from everywhere to help him.

Most disappointing effort was Bowdo in his farewell game standing well back and throwing the ball to the umpire. If it wasn't his final match I'd be a lot more scathing of that effort but it didn't really surprise me. JB like Richo have never shown much aggro in situations like that.

The King/Didak confrontation was entertaining for a while until Didak pulled his pants down with the footy. Then it just got embarrassing. At least he had a crack I guess.

Just wondering others thoughts?

Bowden was looking for a kick when the ump threw it straight up.

Hislop handled Maxwell nicely.

Anyone catch Swan pulling Lids hair?

Yeah saw that!

Good Westmeadows fighter is Swan! Will need to have a word to him, next time I see him. :hihi

What about Tarkyn Lockyer thinking he could could give Jake King a touch up.

Bit of a laugh really.

Only in the AFL do blokes like Lockyer get involved in a bit of a scruff. In a minor league Jake would of smashed him. In the end Jake was sitting on his chest.

I reckon its funny when blokes who can play footy think they they have it over blokes like Jake King.

Is that who it was - I was disgusted - not only was Lids hair pulled, it was whilst he was in a headlock.

That got me fired up.

I was in mixed minds over the melee. Initial reaction was to get up on my feet and really hope to see some old fashioned justice metered out. It was good to see some fight in our kids.

Afterwards though, I felt like a fool. 100 point thrashing, what's the point of a melee ? If it was a close game then it would have been a different ball game, but to throw some jumper punches when you're going to get beaten by so much really doesn't make sense.

The melee was as a rush they are always are. No one got hurt, few chests got puffed out and the crowd loved it. I was happy to see Lids fly in at a rate of knots and he have intent to help King. Same with Hislop, Maxwell wasn't too sure what to do, he had that look were you just think "this bloke may throw a bomb any second, he's stark raving mad". Overall the boys did ok in the dustup. Got flogged the rest of the day. ;D

hmm in a real fight a bloke with a big mop of hair is easy meat. its simple control the head you control the body. in other words grab a handful in one hand and bash the living bejeezus out of him with the other, mark my words a very effective ploy.

if it becomes a real dog eat dog fight eyes nuts and knees are all good target areas. you cant fight with your nuts in your mouth you cant stand up with your knee stuffed and you certainly cant hurt anyone if you cant see.

The dog part of it was that Swan wasn't the one who had Lids in the headlock!

Nothing like a real melee.

Nowadays it's all push and shove with no biff. All actors.
