Maurice Rioli Jnr

MJ was assured; positive; electrifying; desperate. His best game so far in the jersey. I'm excited. His X-factor is the best we have after Shai. [Duz, admittedly is in another league.] Big statement, for a newbie.

Thank you, TF. He got motoring at times.

I reckon he ran harder for longer today. That suggests that he's getting more stamina on the job. This is unfolding before our eyes.
The Teleport on Daicos was sublime!

In my training report on Thursday i were nearly going to post about Junior's chase down of Cotchin he was 10 meters behind and the tackle was identical to the Daicos one.
I had to laugh when Cotch mentioned it in his post match presser :)

It really is hard to get precise information on the websites and media.
I remember when we drafted RCD and pre draft articles had him ranging anywhere from 188-191cm.
Once drafted, RFC listed him as 191cm but when I asked him personally, he told me he was only 189cm.
Who to believe?

Both boys interviewed today on Best on Ground for around 2 mins and both moving around and at all times looked almost exactly the same height. The RFC website also has them both at 179cm now after last year having Mj at 173cm

Not sure much else can be said i think

Like his father, Maurice adds a few CMs with that hair.

Feel sad his dad isn't here to see him play. He'd be so proud.

The pies are dribbling over their blond peroxide git who already frustrates fans - we have delicious and I know which one I would prefer by a county mile.

Just that anticipation and murmur you can hear in the crowd when he's hunting oppo defenders with his closing speed is priceless.

Must scare the bejesus out of defenders and there will be some rushed kicks straight to a waiting Vlastuin this season for sure.

It's Cyrilesque

I like how tight all the indigenous boys are at the club. They’re always laughing, smiling around one another. Great to see. I reckon it’ll be a huge factor in Shai staying for a long time. (I think he’s on record actually as saying he loves the club and his team mates. Betting his brothers are a huge part of that.)

Well said Red,

What a brilliant environment the RFC have created for these lads.

Turns out Mansell wasn't fighting with Shai at training after all, they were just practicing for Gitivan !

Thank goodness he just doesn’t run hard and guard space.
Pressure, skill and knows how to play the game. Will only get better as his fitness and confidence builds.

What a magnificent name the Riolis have made in football across the competition. Love them all!

I think the commentators pointed out that even if he doesn’t lay the tackle, it bothers the opposition to know that he’s around. Stuff like that doesn’t get on the stats sheet, either. He was doing it in the VFL just before he got promoted the other week.
