Maurice Rioli Jnr

Maurice gave us some great memories. Round 2 1982 V the kraoukers, that upset win in the mud at Windy Hill mid 80's, punching Jacko's lights out at Sth Freo.

I started following footy around 1983. Two very early recollections of mine were Maurice and Roachy. Maurice running with the ball through the middle, mesmerizing opponents and Roachy taking big grabs and kicking long straight goals.

Let's hope Maurice's boy turns out better than Roachy's though!

In just one game (his first) I reckon MRj will show/do more than Aarts and Castagna.
Hope he laps it up and has a blinder on debut. I will be watching with a great deal of anticipation.
And I hope the MC keep him in the side until season's end.
I am with you on that but hope he doesn't get over awed by the occasion

Finally the farce has ended.

Someone who would know at Tigerland tells me this young man is going to be something very special and is the sort of player who will go up with the level.

Looking forward to seeing him carve it up, then calling for the resignation of all involved with not picking him 8 weeks ago.
Would be fantastic, but I'll be more than happy if he just does enough to get through n play the last few rounds of the season. Get the chance to find out exactly what he needs for senior footy, big summer pre season. Then he can start dismantling the competition next year.

Reckon he'll be okay, UK
He's got a few brothers around him to help settle his nerves.
Plus, he'll be too excited to be overawed (if that makes sense).
If he keeps channelling his old man he'll acquit himself well.
I'm not expecting the world or anything, but can't wait to see him do his thing.

This boy has been born and bred for this day.
The anointed one.
Salvation is ours

A couple of hard tackles, a chase down tackle and 1 goal is enough for today.

And his huge beaming smile at the final siren.

Enjoy your game MoJu

Just wish his dad was here to see. I reckon Dan will give him the 17 when ready.
