Cant see us picking in the rookie draft. Expect us to have a fee train ons including some Richmond VFL players and make a choice in January
Yep, that’s my take as well. Reckon we will chuck in some delisted player as well.

Sounds like we’re going to try and do what the Bulldogs did this year with Gold Coast and trade our picks to other clubs that need the points Brisbane (Levi Ashcroft), Carlton (Camporeale twins), Gold Coast (Leo Lombard) and get a draft pick at the pointy end of the draft

Can't believe Lions get another Ashcroft and Carlscum get a double banger all for junk picks.

Good thinking by our boys though.

I don’t know who was the architect behind these swaps tonight but whether it was Clarke or Hartley it is a really good piece of lateral thinking.

But old Dodoro and Stephen Wells would have done better according to SEN....

Please don't put those two in the same sentence.

Wells built teams that have made 13 preliminary finals and 4 flags since Dodoros teams last won any final.

The greatest at his craft Vs the most overrated.

How did we get those picks from Port and Collingwood?

2 teams gave away a future pick to us to move a couple of places up the draft. This strategy makes sense at the pointy end of the draft but when your playing this game lower down the draft - picks in the mid 30’s and 40’s of a relatively weak draft it sort of doesn’t make sense. Seems like they paid overs.

Like all this trading and drafting stuff, the reality of how players actually perform verses the hype around it all now is so far apart it is not funny.

I remember (maybe 7-10) yrs ago, there was a st kilda recruiter who was always getting pumped up (this is after the selection of their well known players), did nothing. Same with Dodoro.,

I like what your saying but unfortunately for the complete picture you need to add in our retires to gain a true picture of the change in our net worth of players - it makes for a more balanced or sobering picture of our list changes.

It's taken us a while to figure out how to take advantage of the rigged bidding system seeing that we get no direct benefit. Better late than never.

Yep, from memory they got excited because he'd picked someone from Suburban footy in the draft. Each year they'd talk excitedly about what oddball stroke of genius he'd do next.
