Neeld was highly rated by the Pies, and I don't see Malthouse hanging around there next season.

So Buckley loses two key parts of the coaching structure. Could be a blessing, but could also be counterprodcutive to a new coach who is taking on the job as a succession plan rather than coming in afresh.

Hope Figgy has plenty of close unemployed mates hanging around somewhere, he may need them sooner rather than later. Mention in todays Hun that Freo are sniffing around Scotty Watters as an assistant for Ross the boss and Scot Burns seems to have front running at the Crowbaits.

Figgy may start his first year as Grand Coaching Poobah at scumwood with a very thin support crew.

It could make them better. Depends on how good a coach Buckley is.

I have nothing to base this on, but I have my doubts on his ability in this regard.
