Mark Neeld to coach Melb

Cant see an experienced coach getting the gig at Melbourne for one reason and one reason only.

If they get someone experienced, it will show Chris Connoly up for the fraud I think he is, an inexperience coach wont have the balls to tell him to butt out.

Good luck Neeldy if you get it...

Seems weird that the Dees are to announce this tomorrow as Lyon on the Footy show last night was trying to portray that they were going through a "process" and would announce a new coach in good time. They probably missed out on Ross Lyon and are trying to save face.

Maybe Gary Lyon has just played the whole scenario that well that there weren't any leaks. I for one give him some credit for the way he has handled it unlike the Buckley to North fiasco a few years back.

Bailey to Neeld isn't much of an upgrade.

Just signed a 5 year deal for $55 per year
10000000000% agree! How is he going to tell his players to put there head over the ball? he never did!
I reckon you would get a gig as a senior coach if you spent 10 minutes at Collingwood.
Melbourne will never learn! Dud Club!

i tend to agree here..sounded like last night thier process was still underway...
all of a sudden bang there is a presser tomorrow...

Gaddy Lyon to me looks out of his depth....the problems still exist at MFC
namely Cuddles and Schwab...interesting times for the MFC...
they appear a ship without a rudder...

Big rumour is that in the interview process Mark was the only applicant that neeld down to Gary Lyon....

Garry Lyon is full of sh!t IMO. That a club would rely on one person's opinion so heavily is an emabarrassment for that club.

He was part of the Bailey appointing committee too.

but surely an upgrade?

Uhm....well.....why do the mid-90s come to mind?......number 19 guernsey.......good luck Melbourne......yer gonna need it.

Can remember McGuire pumping up Neeld for the Richmond job two years ago. He was interviewed but didn't make the short list, as was Leppitsch. Wonder whether we offered him an assistant's job?

Lyon must be relieved that the coach is picked, getting closer to his comfy gig again. I'm not a fan.
