Lynch !!

I shouldn't be, but I am shocked. Comp is a laughing stock tonight.
If the club had bought Bitcoin 10 years ago we could just walk away for the rest of the year.
That's what this deserves.

Blind Freddy could've seen that the Lynchman was gunna be hung drawn and quartered n sent straight to the tribunal. No chance he gets less than three weeks under the mass hysteria over the bump, law suits n brain injuries. Smartest thing we could do would be to not even bother entering a plea or turning up for the hearing coz it's purely a waste of time and resources.

Didn't contest the ball n nailed the woofers arse. Lynchman be dead meat.
But you have to understand why he didn’t contest the ball and what other choices he had TM.
This is a joke.
I don’t subscribe to this being anti Richmond and all the other stuff being thrown around. What I subscribe to that this is the type of incompetence that if repeated will slowly kill the game.
You simply have to allow for the fact that this is a contact sport and sometimes people get hurt. I have no idea what other option Lynch had

im feeling like a cooker.

Its Gil's Gather Round,

lynch has a busted ankle,

Afl want to beat a concussion class action.

Media group think Lynch has a case for a marking contest, when it didnt really occur to anyone that was possible.

lynch goes to the tribunal???

Wtf is going on here?

The game is on a knife edge atm. Helmets for all within 5 years no tackling within 10.

The science is in that helmets dont work.

I think Gil is overwhelmed by concussion and racism concurrently, while he was busy daydreaming of a gold rolex and a legacy.

Both are going to court, and could be $billions

If it walks like a duck and quacks,

Its mostly a duck

Panic, deflect, react, distract

Watershed moment for the club and AFL right now - club needs to make a stand. Consistency is all we ask for. This must now be the precedent for all concussions going forward - straight to the tribunal.

I think a smart lawyer will get him off.

Lawyer walks to the podium and was about to open with "We are shocked to be here" but thought better of it. He gets straight to the point:

Player Lynch was just about to launch for the mark when he noticed Player Keath come in from the side (not looking at ball mind you). Player Lynch had a decision to make, he could either 1) stick his knee up and go for the mark, but the consequences could have been any number of serious injuries to Player Keath or 2) pull out of the contest and protect himself, thus minimizing injury to Player Keath. I don't believe there was a third option.

In that split second, he realized he has a duty of care, thus he pulled out of the contest and braced for contact. Unfortunately Player Keath was hit high, but the alternative could have been much worse.

At no stage did Player Keath have his eyes on the ball, nor was he attempting to spoil. He put himself in an extremely vunerable position either through bravery or stupidity (I choose the latter).

Player Lynch should be commended for attempting to minimize harm.

Can the prosecution advise a third option that Player Lynch could have considered? *crickets* Thought not. (Lawyer locks eyes with the Tribunal Chairperson for a couple of seconds, then returns to his seat)

It was a block.
He wasn't looking at the ball
Lynch should've taken him out

Would have cleaned up the Dog's player if he went for the mark, the likelihood of injuring the Dog's player would have been higher, and he would not be at the tribunal or at the MRP.

What a joke.

Yes, if lynch is suspended as a long term member and supporter I will be very disappointed if it is not appealed by the club

It's a contact sport and as long as you are contesting the ball and only the ball you're generally fairly safe.
Take your eyes of the pill or choose not to contest the pill and bump instead then under all the new rules n standards that the AFL has been trying to establish over the last few seasons you're dead meat. It's taken Christian and the Tribunal a few years to catch up to what the AFL has been pushing but they're starting to get there.
Coaches, players n us fans are still a long way off understanding and accepting the way AFLHQ wants the game to go. But the concussion and brain injury issues means there's no choice but to change the game even further from what we've previously known and enjoyed. Otherwise in a few years time there might not be a game at all.

I will have to have another look at the so-called Lynch incident but from memory I saw nothing untoward but it is Lynch so he will be buried anyway. The only saving grace is he will serve his suspension whilst recovering from the foot injury.

May as well turn it into kick to kick. Penalise anyone who moves, because there’s the possibility that movement may jog the head and cause brain injuries.

Twitter is surprisingly lining up behind Lynch on this one. Many, many oppo supports saying they hate us, hate Lynch, but you can't ping a bloke for that, it's a collision in marking contest, not a bump.

I noticed. Proof how wrong this AholeFL is.

I have been watching the game when Jack Dyer was running around . One central, two boundary, two goal umpires who did a better job than what they have on the field now.. Today they cannot get it right with all the umpires cameras etc etc. What gets up my snout is that when AFl introduce these absurd rules , stand , kick out after a point, deliberate kick out ,four umpires etc etc the Club presidents, coaches ,players association do not stand up to His Nibs Gillan & say no. What are they scared of him.

Lynch is being penalised for Keath’s brain explosion. If anything Keath is the one who should be suspended for causing the whole thing.

Been saying this for a long time , I think the game as we know/knew it is stuffed . Simply can’t be played with gladiatorial way it once was , the impact of head injuries / concussions has left sport handcuffed it the way games can be played and hence rules have to be changed.

Problem is that’s what we love about so many sports is the bravery , the big hits , the collisions , so much has changed and will continue too, it’s unquestionable that AFL is now a totally different game to what it once was and will only have less an less contact . As poorer a job as SHocking no doubt did , the stand rule etc are minuscule in the overall scheme of things .

I can’t remember any rule change that has made the game better in the last decade or so , if the game was invented today , it wouldn’t look much at all like it did 10 years ago.

im hoping in time I’ll start loving the “new” game , however with players now been suspended for simply wanting to win the footy in a collision/impact sporut it’s just heartbreaking where this sport is going, no doubt we will continue to have more and more rule changes , however I think it’s just pluging holes in a sinking boat and the game will end up looking more like field hockey without the sticks .

Games *smile*
