Lynch !!

Dunno about deserves but I think in the current climate if you bump someone and they get concussed you are probably sitting out for a week.

I thought it would be a week when I saw it live.
What about the duty of care from Keath? He was no where near the contest. At what point did he think he was going to impact the contest? Or that Lynch has eyes for the footy?
Common sense has all but left the AFL. Not every concussion needs a suspension as an outcome.

Lynch is going towards the pack to try and mark the ball or at least halve the contest, notices the big Footscray player flying at him and has to pull out of the contest.

Nothing in this at all, would have barely known there was a Footscray player to his left, incidental contact, clearly.

Keath wants to avoid that sort of contact maybe he shouldn't sit under a pack. If Lynch wasn't there the other Footscray player would have gone straight through him.

Well if thats what the AFL has become Welcome to no contact AFL They should ban bumps tackling and high marks
Its time for touch footy If you got the ball opposition touches you immediate free to them
In a marking contest if you’re the first to put your hand up and balls within 5mtrs it’s your mark

Saw Matthew Lloyd say this morning he should have launched at the ball and put his knee into Keath. Thought that was a good call, bumping is too risky a prospect these days.

100% agree - collision sport & that’s what happened. If he’s charged, club goes to whatever lengths to get him off. Absolutely puerile the media reaction.

Keith was to the side of him. Did he want him to perform a Jackie Chan move? Let’s gets serious here for a second.

Biggest issue for the Lynchman is that it looks like he saw Keith coming in at the last moment and instead of continuing to try n make the marking contest he braced for the incoming.
For over 150 years it's been accepted that it's a tough physical 360 degree game and you are permitted to protect yourself from random incoming. Rules have changed in recent years so that now we have to protect the idiots from their own stupidity at all costs. Hence the Lynchman will likely be referred straight to the tribunal for covering himself from the idiot that shouldn't have been there.

Unless you’re Dangerfield in a GF against Richmond and elbow Floss in the head…

I've studied concussion research, and have consistently criticised the league's negligent handling of concussions on here since around 2017 (when Griff retired after being assessed at the MBC)

A suspension in this situation would suggest the league still has little idea of what they're actually doing in this area.

It would come across as a decision motivated by a desire to conduct society's perception of their handling of the issue, rather than to address the issue itself.

It's approaching the equivalent of someone getting food poisoning and the government responds by prohibiting the consumption of fish, including the fish people bought last night. If you don't understand anything, just ban everything...

Doesn’t matter what the MRO comes out tonight as news just coming through, that Lynch has sustained a fracture in his foot.

No time line.

Bloody hell.

Lloyd seem to be suggesting that in lieu of concussing someone you should take out a vital organ.

That's just about our season done. Yes he's that important. Disaster.

Yep. Add to that injuries to Biggie, Tarrant and Bradtke in the VFL yesterday. Plus Gibcus and Soldo already out and Jack on senior legs, our tall stocks are seriously hampered.
