Lynch !!

It’s not really enough though is it? We went 30 years with blokes that tried and hard and looked how that worked out.
Lynch has won two flags.
I think today was Lynch's tribute game to Cleve Hughes.
You're kidding Lynch worked his heart out today. Must have hit 30 contests.
It was an incredibly taxing game. I think you need to watch closer.

I thought he was ok. It's not as if it was getting down there much at the end.

In the last quarter maybe but he blew chances in the first half in particular when we dominated

Still ended up with 55 inside 50's to St Kilda 49.

That is a damning stat. Just goes to show you how bad that second half was. We need to be more adaptive in our movement in the forward line. How about our full forward line leading in different directions?Certainly would be hard to maul all three?

My only comment on Lynch is that he tends to get under the ball.
He is always in the contest but the ball is hitting his finger tips.
Would love to see him time his run more and have him hit it at eye level arms extended.
Saying that the delivery to him is generally lollipop kicks landing on his head.
Needs Dion and Shai delivering.

Agree he missed a few chances mate but I think our small forwards are a genuine issue. Where were they? Non existent.
I think wev'e been rolling them back up to the middle to help but then when we get it there is no one forward, its brain exploding stuff.

I hear some of the st kilda defenders are being charged with assault after todays game
I thought Tommy tried really hard today and presented and competed tirelessly but if defenders know they can get away with anything they will keep doing it.

Exactly right. Just struggles to lead.

It’s a bit hard watching this bloke at the moment. I get that the service is not ideal but still he gets his hands to plenty and doesn’t mark them. His goal kicking is haphazard and he is really not good when the ball is on the deck. Very slow reactions.

Yes we’ve won 2 flags with him (probably don’t win 2019 without him) but for a million a year going forward it’s fair to expect a lot more than he’s provided in 2021 and so far in 2022.

I've lost count of the amount of times a soft free gets paid to an opposition forward and I've thought "I wish Lynch or Jack got those paid"

Never happens. Umpired differently.

Agree with the first part, and we absolutely don’t win 2019 without him.
Think back to the Collingwood game mid 2019, and the 2019 PF, he was a top 3 key forward in the comp. He wouldn’t be too 15 now. And has barely played a game like either of this since.
His mark at fill tilt to start the 2nd half of the 2019 PF is a thing of beauty, one of my favourite Tiger plays of all time.
No way he takes that mark now, I have no faith that a pass to Lynch ends in a goal and am pleasantly surprised when it does.
If he is getting mauled by defenders maybe he needs to work harder. Aaron Naughton works through it. I can’t stand Ben Brown but he works much harder to make space.
Go back and watch his highlights, he is not even close to the same player

The ball aint coming down as quick is one reason he's not getting as much opportunity to get one out and to lead.

Yep. He’s dropped off the last 2years. Things havent been ideal 21 and 22 but the signs were there in 20 regardless.

Note: today wasn’t his fault though.

Thought the pressure from our small forwards was the best it has been this year: 16 - 4 inside 50 tackles our way.

Becoming more apparent Shai isn't a midfielder as he goes missing for large patches in there. Ideally plays forward more with only bursts in the middle.

We had 18 goals scored against us today. That should be the biggest focus. We were spent by the middle of the 3rd and continually got burnt for energy and pace all across the field from then on. Similar to the Carlton match.

Remedy that will have our biggest impact ILO. Was the frenetic pace too much? are we fit enough? Is our midfield just too light? is our structure too tall? Can we still play that run our opponents off there feet gameplan whilst playing more talls?

Dunno. But they are the bigger questions for Leysy.

Yes, this chaos game is cooked. A lot of our players now fumble too easy and pass cheaply to no-one. Just play with composure as other teams do. Couldn't believe the Aints had it in the last quarter and a half. Simple game.
