Lynch !!

Another thing.

Any time you hear things like "it is open to conclude" with no direct evidence, you are clutching at straws, as Gleeson QC was.

That language is used when defending a case, not prosecuting one.

The MRO has stitched the AFL one up an absolute beauty here. Christian bowed to public pressure, and the 'accumulation' of incidents (even though totally irrelevant) and the AFL were tasked with trying to polish a *smile*. If Christian wanted to rub him out, he should have referred the Witherden incident to the tribunal.

They will reintroduce the 3 strikes policy just wait and see

In a time where the AFL is letting people go, they waste their money on pointless tribunal cases.

Thought this would happen. Didn't even get him in the neck. Jon Ralph in particular looking like a moron.

The MRP system is wrong. Lynch referred to the tribunal for repeated offences. Yet the chairman of the tribunal said past offences should not be considered, the jury can only look at the facts of this incident.

So why have a referral for past offences at all?

Further proof the management of the game is in disarray.......

Unbelievable
Christian needs to resign immediately.
The chairman, ripped him a new one
"You can only use this incident to come to a conclusion"

Time to pack your bags Christian.

Justice prevails but still can't believe they deliberated for that long, it was a soft push to the neck.

With an open hand responding to a weak opponent trying to hit his sore hand ... even if he didn't even know which one it was.

Hocking: “I want him dead, i want his house burnt to the ground i want to go to his house and *smile* on his ashes“

Balme : “You wanna get the AFL! Here's how you get them. He pulls a knife, you pull a gun. He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue! That's the Richmond way!’

Hardwick: “Never stop fighting till the fight is done!”

Gale: “Isn't that just like a Hocking...brings a knife to a gunfight. Get outta here ya Geelong bastard!"
I’ll smoke what he’s smoking..

For a slightly different take on things...

I reckon the AFL was intent on sending a message to Tom, nothing more.

To be fair, he's been walking a fine line.

The Witherden incident was not a good look. Whatever we thought of Collins' behaviour in the lead up to last week's matter, Tom was again caught whacking a bloke.

This was probably the least reportable of all three, but it presented a chance to give Tom pause for reflection.

He would have been a little uncomfortable during the past 15 minutes.

Good result all 'round, I reckon.
I see it quite different.
Lynch is never the instigator. I could be wrong but I don't recall seeing it.
If the AFL wants to stamp out acts of retaliation (which is what this was) they should deal with the instigator. It really is that simple. Review the footage and in this case hold Hurley to account. He was hitting an opponent off the ball repeatedly with force. Retaliation happened.
There is that much vision of every position on the ground these days, remember Dusty getting done on what looked like a sasquatch hunters cam recorder. If they were at all serious they would deal with the crap off the ball weekly. I don't even want to get started about the potential positive control the umpires could effect.

Spare me. That is how dictatorships work. Oh wait...

Since the moment Christian was out voted 2 to 1 (when they had a panel) on Cotchin's prelim decision, I reckon he's completely clouded when it comes to us.

Word back then was that he was *smile* filthy he didn't get his way.

I think part of the reason they took so long was to give him some credibility and save him the embarrassment of throwing it out!

Farce

Does this mean Tom's offences are now reset to zero, or do we have to go through this circus again next week?

Yeah. The poor old AFL QC was given a bum steer on this one. Struggled manfully but no hope.
