I know I'm going early on this, but seeing Cartoon on prime time has reminded me of a significant milestone that the AFL and media have failed to commemorate: the Silver Jubilee since CarLOL won a premiership. #theyknowwe'recoming #canyousmellwhatwe'recooking

No one in the history of the game has played in more losses than Kade Simpson: 209!

Oh well at least the bloke has a record ........... not many can say that.

Great servant of the Carlton Football Club is Kade, one of a few respected performers for them over a long time.

Betts has kicked two points in 16 quarters. Either Butler or Ellis would've improved them more, but Carlton went short-term again.

Cue the Carlton fans turning on Eddie by the end of the year when Butts and Ellis have added plenty to their sides.

Blues were mad not to go after either of our boys, both wouldve improved them.

They got Cal Moore and some Carlton fans are blaming Liddle. They weren't impressed with the couple of games he played.

Very ordinary side.
Can't kick, cant handball
Who decided to put this crap on a satedey night?
The worse skilled game ive seen this year.
A team will win kicking 5 goals for the game in dry conditions.

My take on it was that they cooled on Butler because they wanted Papley. They then foolishly relied on Sydney doing a deal with Essendon (a notoriously hard to deal with club) for Daniher because they would then deal with Carlton about Papley. Predictably the Daniher deal fell through and they were stuck with nothing, so went for Eddie to salvage something out of the mess. It was a feel good thing, and I don’t think he’s cost much in terms of coin, however he has hung on a year two too long.

Way too many games been decided by “ controversial” decisions, ya take the good with the bad, however the combination of the rules and the umpires natural variance in the grey area rulings makes this the most inconsisten/ confusing it’s ever been

They're not keeping the public informed and opening the umpires up to criticism. At least with the hard line on HTB it was consistent; now it's all over the shop again.

I hate seeing players let the ball go when tackled and not get penalised. It's not even football.

I’ve put it down to my lack of understanding the rule and not watching the footy shows with explanation, however every game I watch all the commentators are just as confused, I think it was Huddo yesterday saying he had no idea on the new ruling.

Feel sorry for the Umps

I certainly had the wrong impression about the free being paid downfield, which turned out to be correct.

Interesting point made by ex-umpire Matthew Head that the closest player taking the free kick isn't actually written into the rules.
