Little things that annoy you....

Is that right ?, my 66 Falcon is the ultimate in recycling & green friendlyness, your POS modern car created tonnes & tonnes of green house gases during manufacture, every little bit of it is created by machine not man like mine & machines need electricity generated by coal & gas
p.s your stupid habit of not using the aircon will cause the seals in the ac pipework to dry out ,and in next to no time you will be pumping ozone depleting R134a into the atmosphere

Well, if your 50 year old Ford has clean pipes, then you're not an 'idiot' as mentioned. Well done on keeping an old car clean. I just wish others would do this....and I do let the A/C run at times to clear the pipes. I just don't use it often on hot days because it's more fuel efficient for my POS car that was built in 2003 and is still running well after 12 years just like your Ford was in 1978....

There's a difference in supporting climate change and contributing to it. It's almost impossible not to contribute to it. I try to lessen the impact by planting thousands of trees.

That's awesome!

You are right, impossible not to contribute to it. But we can lessen impacts in a variety of ways.

People in queues who insist on standing in my back pocket. You're not gonna get served any quicker by breathing down my neck. BACK OFF...!!!

Not sure anyone actually supports climate change. Even the deniers aren't saying "Go Carbon Go, melt those ice caps!".

I believe that's the point Antman was trying to make, by pointing out that the closest thing which exists to a climate change 'supporter' is an unnecessarily high 'contributor'.

It was all a joke at Gutfull's turn of phrase, like most things PRE it's escalated out of control now :hihi

There would be some hardcore climate change deniers who will insist that we burn more fossil fuels as it's good for humanity and climate science is crap, our own ex-PM was one of these.

Good to hear that most of us don't carry that attitude.

Only a small thing, but
Ive always wondered why carbon emission per person were quoted rather than carbon emission per sq km.
We all share the earth and it seems a fairer measure that if we have controlled our population density then we are less polluting than those who are doing it from a denser population base.

Ahhh. Statistics.
They get me every time.

By a strange coincidence your proposed formula means that rich westerners can continue to pollute in the order of ten times that of poor underprivileged people in less developed countries simply because we have the luck to be born into a wealthy country with the lower fertility rate that comes with wealth.

I'm sure this coincidence is completely unintended, of course.

this is more of a big thing I guess... the #PrayForParis hashtag.

which god are you praying to exactly? the god who caused this? or the god who did nothing to prevent it?

also lets not forget Kenya and Lebanon.

On a similar line, the "Everything happens for a reason" idiocy that people spout on social media.

Sure, everything happens for a reason in the sense that there is causality in the universe, but the implication that all the bad *smile* in the world that happens is somehow to educate us and make us better makes me want to retch....

Not sure if it was Richard Dawkins are another renowned atheist who said that religious, or any war is essentially fighting over whose imaginary friend is better.

And Charlie Hebdo saying "don't pray for Paris, we don't need any more religion"

Your belief of the point antman was trying to make seems at odds with his actual comments including that he did his post as a joke..

First you say you're not sure anyone actually supports climate change then you refer to the closest thing to a climate change supporter. Contributing on any level, and we all do, doesn't mean you support it.

Carry on :hihi

Mine is the best. He looks like Roachy. He taught me how to kick arrow-straight drop punts from 55 out on the boundary.
