Redundancy.

well my story is rather suitable for this thread. i've been employed with the same company for over 18 years. some of you may recall i took long service and went overseas for 15 weeks in 2011. well 3 hours before i was due to fly out, i received a call from my boss saying i have been offered a redundancy package and had to give an immediate answer. at the time i was pretty much ready to move on... but because it's not a decision you can make at the spur of the moment, plus our HR people was unable to give me an exact payout figure at such short notice, i had no option but to turn it down.

That's absolutely ridiculous. Perhaps we work(ed) for the same company. :-\

Holy cr*p
What sort of company offers a redundancy package with knowing the $'s up front?
At the very least they should be able to say x weeks salary for every year of service.

Anthony Mundine. I never had any time for him anyway but he just seems to be getting worse if that is possible.

Love the standard defense: I'm not homophobic, I have plenty of friends that are gay.

Corrupt government departments - the ones that have been found out and after that continue to be. Hopefully they will be found out yet again by the same investigating journalists that bore them out in the first place.

Just back from Coolangatta - took Mrs B1 and the 3 little bananas for a couple of weeks.
Went to Whitewater World (as we'd done all the others last year).
Paid full price at gate, go in and 50% of the park is closed for maintenance.
Understand that, doing it in non-peak.
Mrs B1 being the feisty one complained and they gave us passes to go back and forth thru Dreamworld, so all was not lost.

BUT FFS PUT UP A SIGN THAT SAYS MOST OF IT IS CLOSED OR CHARGE A REDUCED RATE.

Rant over. B1

Haha! That's so like me & the wife - I'd probably say "ah well *smile* happens" she will end up owning the park! ;D

I read somewhere that an Aussie coined the word. Sounds about right.
