Leon Cameron quits as GWS coach

I remember watching the Amazon documentary “Making Their Mark” not that long ago and being struck by how poor a communicator Cameron was to his players. Admittedly, they were struggling at the time but not one player looked engaged with what he was saying, none more so than Jeremy Cameron who left at the end of that season.

Anyway, nine years with that list and no premierships. Not sure he’ll be getting a second chance anytime soon.

Maybe, but I'd contend that Cameron should be considered a more successful coach than the current media darling, Buckley.

Spoke to a bloke who used to manage a certain teams day to day affairs, and he said Cameron was the most ordinary bloke he’d come across in his job. Arrogant and rude

A pretty good coach, but had clearly come to the end of the road. People have dumped on him for being given a Ferrari but building a club and a culture from scratch is difficult and he did a good job of that imo. Only have to look at the Suns to see what the flip side of that coin looks like.
Not sure why the benchmark for a new club is a premiership in first 10 years. Freo must be a massive disappoint then given they were born in footy heartland. Took Swans 25 years and the Giants wer never as bad as they were. (Sheedy years excepted when the players were al 19)

That's interesting. ... I heard the complete opposite from someone who knows him pretty well. He said today he's been in footy for 34 yrs straight. .. longtime to last if you are an a*hole I'd think.

Haaargh haaargh haaargh ! That is hilarious.
I've never heard that, its gold. Jeez I got some looks just now when I played it. Brilliant. Voice doesn't sound at all like Eade , although he was going spare!

I never believed this was true. I think Eade also denied it was him.

Actually I reckon it does sound like Rocket!

Isn't that more evidence to support his nickname?!!
