Baloo said:It depends. You're talking personal one on one. Abo, like Paki, is a collective so not friendlier. And Abo especially has negative connotations.

Hey Baloo, I think the one thing about racism is context. The term Paki in Australia during these times was far removed from the description you illustrate. Yes the Poms call Indians "Paki's", it is a term used to put down all from the subcontinent and rightly so the indians hate being called a paki. You may very well be given a hiding in the UK for saying it. Australia however does not use the term in the same context, well I have never heard it used that way. We call Pakistan cricket players paki's. Not Indians. So yes those who are shortening names or terms of people from elsewhere are rightly so pointing out the context, racism is different.Baloo said:If it wasn't for a quick thinking english friend who jumped to stop sh!t happening before it started, I would have gotten a decent beating for calling a group of English Indians "Pakis". I never realised how offensive it was to them. That was my issue, not theirs.

The caddy thread has been hijacked for a stupid comment which in the heat of battle meant no offence to those inflicted with spactisity for which he has acknowledged.
I agree too, keep racism where it belongs.
