Everyone’s bending over to keep the lefty wankers from their fake offence.

Whilst I agree with you, I think he had no choice but to apologise purely to make this issue go away.
Otherwise I fear some of the Tiger hating morons in the media would’ve made this into a bigger deal than what it deserves to be.
Unfortunately we live in a society which is crippled with political correctness and entitlement!

Absolutely! I mean, the temerity of these people! Don't they know their place. Its so offensive to see people trying to stand up for others and make the world a better place!

Lefty wankers?

I know there is an element of white line fever, and im ok with sledging to a certain extent. As a father of an intellectually challenged child, not impressed with the spastic sledge. Not in 2018, not ever really. Not what a 9yo with special needs needs to hear (from his limited comprehension). :-\

Your better that that Cads.

Agree 100%. Best on field solution is to let football performance speak for itself.

Yep. Ordinary form to use that term to denigrate an opponent.

My sons also intellectually disabled Pops, must say I don’t use the words spastic or retard ever, in saying that those words have been around in conversation my whole life and I don’t think most mean to offend,Friends of mine use to use them probably a bit to frequently, but next to never do I hear them in conversation now, I never get offended, however the one time my son was referred to as a retard I saw red. I think in my own head it’s a cheap shot to use the word and though Caddy has no excuse what so ever , he most likely didn’t mean to offend the handicapped people in society.

Proudly I can say my son does not let his disability get in his way in anyway, his speech is poor and at times difficult to understand, so when he makes conversation he gets two types of responses , one people pay him the respect he deserves and they do there best to communicate with him and he appreciates that greatly, there’s a few Prenders who make his day just by listening to what his got to say, then there’s the other type of person who it’s just way too hard to understand for them and they can’t be bothered giving him the time of day, he picks up on that attitude pretty quick and you can see in his eyes him saying “ well *smile* you then”

Though like any kid life can be hard, an my boy is pretty fortunate, however yes he is limited in what he may be able to do , there’s a lot less fortunate out there and each time I go to his school and see all the kids in wheel chairs and with walking frames it’s a great reminder how lucky we are to be “ normal”

Good on Cadds for making a public apology , hopefully a couple less use the terms this week.

I like Josh playing our tough guy with the sledging but really didn't need to use that word.

I think 'cripple' is another one gone to the bin nowadays.

I'd better shut my mouth in the bedroom from now on in case someone overhears me. I could go to jail for some of the things I say ( and ask for )
Turn the mikes off. Educate kids at school and at home and not on the football field

It's not a hangable offence, Caddy made a mistake, has apologised, we move on.

However if you reckon that what Caddy said was fine for children around Australia to hear used derogatorily towards another person without acknowledgement of fault, you've got rocks in your head.

“Oh won’t something thing of the children??”

It’s a footy field that shouldn’t be miked.

I agree it shouldn't be miked.

However kids mimic adult behaviour, footy stars even more. It's not on.

Good that he apologised.

However, AFL has such high stakes and the associated pressure on the players means a lot of players are going to say things they wouldn’t say in normal life. But the media are total hypocrites. They want to play footy like headbanging psychopaths yet carry themselves at all times like old English gentlemen.

“It's now very common to hear people say, 'I'm rather offended by that.' As if that gives them certain rights. It's actually nothing more... than a whine. 'I find that offensive.' It has no meaning; it has no purpose; it has no reason to be respected as a phrase. 'I am offended by that.' Well, so *smile*ing what."

Stephen Fry

Exactly....suck on a sav if you have a problem with sports people sledging each other. Socialists are pathetic and have such soft minds. Anyone who does something different to them, that they do not agree with, they end up crying like a child.......

Blobbo and Wankley interrogating Jack on this story, even saying that Josh's apology on Instagram was just a template.

There's no fake offence here, it's genuine and it's real. Most of us have grown up a bit over the last 30+ years but some are still clinging to their buffhead ideas about what's acceptable language either on the field or off it. If he feels he has to resort to that language to get an edge on his opponents then he underestimates his own ability to beat them with skill. First time I've seen him lose it like that, along with the push in the back, and hope it's the last. Undisciplined actions could cost us a flag.

99% of kids wouldn't have even recognised the word until the media made it a written headline.

I thought his apology was better than the Warne template of 'sorry if you were offended'.

Way way overblown. Yes he used the wrong word but man the world is going mad with all this pc garbage.

First this and then reading about the Serena cartoon uproar. Absolutely ridiculous. Absolutely nothing racist or sexist whatsoever in that cartoon and knight is getting dragged over the coals for it. Really worry I am bringing up kids in a world where u cant say anything without repercussions. Complete madness.

Well said mate. Caddy needed to make the apology. It'll help educate.
I'm actually surprised someone of his generation would even use the term in 2018 so the statement was important methinks.

Agree with ditching the mike's though. This will all be behind us next week.
