Thought he was ordinary. Fumbled and kept trying to get the easy one over the back.

I was at Metricon he was good and now he is getting better..

Re: Welcome to Tigerland - Josh Caddy

Was huge. 28 possessions, could have kicked six. Needs to back up against his old club this week.

Re: Welcome to Tigerland - Josh Caddy

Unless my eyes were deceiving me, actually showed some toe at times.

Reckon he's the type that gets better as season goes on. Better touch, looser joints.

Stuart dew type.

Start feeding him dim sims?

Re: Welcome to Tigerland - Josh Caddy

Josh is the best kick for goal from the goal square I've ever seen. :hihi

In all seriousness, he's played his role well all season. A big game was coming for awhile now.

Seriously overrated. One game in 20 dosn't make up for being carried the previous 19

He was channeling his inner Josh Jenkins yesterday. Reckon the average distance out for his goals was 1.5 metres! 3 from the goal square and one from a mark on the goal line.

He is unfortunately a very unreliable shot at goal from further out. He really needs to start kicking them. But he did play his role very well yesterday.

Unfortunately most of our forwards are hit and miss from further out. Not too many I have full confidence in when lining up for goal. Goalkicking has cost us wins this year and could well cost us more before the year is out. Something we certainly need to improve.

Totally agree. We'd probably be sitting on top if we could nail more of those basic 25-30m shots.

Re: Welcome to Tigerland - Josh Caddy

There is an article on AFL site about st kilda's poor conversion. Adjusted for difficulty and distance they are 17th. It mentions in passing we are 18th. Certainly a story here. Mid pack on this conversion and we would be probably top.

Yep and its a big reason we don't win games by big margins, despite some claiming we don't because the coach doesn't want us to.

Re: Welcome to Tigerland - Josh Caddy

I'm in agreance with some here on our conversion.

Small margin wins are mainly due to our poor conversion in that range of 15-30 out.

If you go back to many of our close wins & and those close losses you will find we have kicked more points than goals.

Sliding doors. We would be sitting too of tree clear in front.

3 weeks to try and fix this.

Last thing we want is too many moments where a player is 30 out and will past it off to someone 15 out because he is losing confidence in his kicking.

18 th that needs to fixed .

Re: Welcome to Tigerland - Josh Caddy

Our poor conversion is the best utilisation of our resources.

If we don't have 22 skilful players, it's less bad to play the poorest kicks as far away from the opposition goal as possible.

We get a second bite at the cherry due to being the #1 team for forward pressure, so poor goal kicking for Richmond has the least damaging consequences of any team in the AFL

No doubt Toby. Quite simply, if Dusty and George kick the early 4th quarter goals v the Giants in Sydney to put us up over 5 goals and if Nank kicks the sitter in the 4th quarter v the Swans, we are on top right now.

still had 479mtrs gained for the game. most on the ground by those who wont win this years Brownlow.

amazing isn't it? The Sydney game was the biggest clanger missed opp due to poor goalkicking, but you could argue one or two more.

On Caddy, I like him. He is fumbly, but effective. My favourite thing about him is his bullocking pack work late in games when its tight. which he didn't get a chance to do, or need to do yesterday. And yet its being billed as his best game.

Re: Welcome to Tigerland - Josh Caddy

To all those naysayers, now you can see just how important he is to our setup.

Huge loss.
