Josh Caddy

Re: Welcome to Tigerland - Josh Caddy

Hit his peak at the cats, and has stayed there since, be that good or bad, thats what he is. Not fast enough or clever enough to be in the midfield, so his input lends him to only a few possies in the team.

Re: Welcome to Tigerland - Josh Caddy

This bloke could be the difference in a final in a tight last quarter. Heaps grunt and one percenters. Cannot be a team of road-runners

Yep, one thing caddy is extremely consistent. Consistently mediocre. At least we know what we are going to get week in week out.

Never completely stinks it up, but never has a blinder either. Has his moments in games, has moments and quarters where he goes completely missing, and never truly makes a massive impact. Little upside imo. Still best 22.

Some of his tracking and chasing efforts are simply not up to scratch. Bad trade imho.

Covered more ground at high speed than any other player today so you can't fault his work ethic.

Re: Welcome to Tigerland - Josh Caddy

The tackle bag had another average game. That's his level people.

Re: Welcome to Tigerland - Josh Caddy

Today his overall game showed why we traded for him. His big body and often bruising contests have helped our midfield blossom into a potent unit

Spot on! It's not so much about possessions for him, but more his presence and baulking work.

Re: Welcome to Tigerland - Josh Caddy

Much happier about the Caddy recruitment than Prestia, second efforts excellent today.

They have both made us better. Don't worry about the cash - it always costs something. If we didn't have them we would have paid the cash to someone else anyway. I for one appreciate the win loss and overall position this year. As some would say, " irregardless" of the means the outcome is positive.

Re: Welcome to Tigerland - Josh Caddy

I guess a positive with the Prestia and Caddy recruitments is that they both haven't hit their straps yet.

Was ok today but it doesn't rain every week.

According to the AFL tracker, Prestia had the best GPS results. Matched Tom Scully at 16km today, his disposal hasn't been the best but he has made us a lot better and is a big part of our pressure that is winning us games.

Re: Welcome to Tigerland - Josh Caddy

Watched the replay last night. Those conditions and our game plan required us to keep the ball in our 50, it required players willing to go to repeat contests and at least halve them.

Caddy was huge. Not enormous stats but time after time he was in contests, the one doing hard work in the packs, bringing the ball to ground in the marking duels.

He is actually a great team and role player atm

I agree, he trucks around and as a flanker he's a good contested ball player and strong physical presence. He's imperfect in many ways, but he's a solid B player and much better than his potential replacement.

Keeps giving us a number at the ball instead of allowing the opposition an easy takeaway. Keeps working from contest to contest. Ain't a silk worm but is more a worker bee.
Works hard running both ways, funny how quite a few lambasted the ability of our mids to do this on a regular basis. He does.

He's doing his job and giving others opportunities

Adds desperately needed size and toughness to the forward half.
Missed him last time against GWS
