Best podcast I've seen. Push Up open and honest. I loved the little bloke and still reckon he deserved better. Was told he'd be dropped and took it on the chin compared to others who sook. I wish he could continue on his thoughts about Dimma when they first met at his locker thinking he was delisted. The part when he (finally) told Plough off with bad words and yet Plough didn't react in a negative way is a bit strange I must admit....and when did Sheedy / Bummers have pick 25 to draft him??
Pick 25 rookie draft, not main draft. Kinda strange combo Jakey n Lids being mates. Bloody good for a laugh Jakey holding court.

I’m getting old. I thought Therry Penola and Geogeghan College was one and the same. Obviously I was neither smart or wealthy enough to attend either.
I did play a few games for Thierry Penola 5ths (warriors) in the amos when I was in my late 30’s. Trying to hang onto my youth but all it did was confirm how old I’d become 😝
Therry n Geoghegan got merged near on 30 years ago n became simply Penola.

I'm interested in who the kids might have been that were meant to debut. If they had parents flying in from interstate, could have been
Gourdis, Clayton Collard. Alroy Gilligan, Carl Peterson?

I can't see any other players drafted from interstate in the years leading up to 2009.
Of those, Gourdis and Peterson the only ones I can remember being near AFL level at that time.

Am I missing someone?

I reckon I’ve savagely underrated how bad the Wallace years were.
To think, we thought we were getting a premium level coach.

Goes to show the court of public opinion was massively, massively wrong. Wallace was a loud, but overrated dud.
Butchered the bulldogs list, then came to us and did the same. "The List Manager" pfffffffft. Worst twitter handle ever.

I think our eventual success has made us forget the bad times.

Btw, how *smile* pìssweak were the board to load the gun and tell Newy to fire it!

It's kind of remarkable we were able to turn the club into a powerhouse just a few years later!

Even funnier how Push Up was chuffed when Dimma said he will wear a lower number, but when asked for Browny's #7, Dimma responds "You're not that *smile* good" :ROFLMAO:

I was talking to current Carlton list manager Nick Austin once (yes I know him but no he won't tell me who Carlton want at pick 3) and he was learning the ropes at the Doggies at the time.

Said they went to meet with the Tigers re: trading Jordy McMahon and had expected to be offered pick 35. Little did they know the Tigers had already agreed to trade 35 to West Coast for Mitch Morton. When offered pick 19 by the Tigers for McMahon, Austin and the list manager could hardly hide their laughter... They took it and ran.

Wallet was the worst ''list manager''.

I remember being one of many advocates for bringing Ben Cousins to Richmond
The suggestion met with a great deal of opposition on this site but ultimately we used our last pre-season pick to get him to the club, this after he had spent 12 months out of the game.

I think it was in his first game for us?
Late in what was a close game, Wallace the coach, sent him back on to the ground after he had injured himself. Cousins showed discomfort but dutifully went back on. We lost the game and we also Cousins with a hammy.
Wallace was a big mistake. Ben Cousins was the opposite.
