Jack Ross

Showing some nice consistency. Winning some good ball and has some great side steps in heavy traffic to get clear. Looking very settled now.

With Lambert n Shedda retired, finally seems to be best 22 now.
Its been a long time coming

Yep, first 22. A long time coming.

All it took was three flags and a severe drop off in personnel and talent.

And just look where we are on the ladder now.

Ross being first 22 is absolutely nothing to cheer about. It is symptomatic of our fall.

Ross has proven he is well above the seconds, now starting to fit in with the firsts. I believe he will continue his growth and become a reliable, good and honest player for us.

I have no idea where the slow and can't kick myths have come from.

Neither are true.

Statistically, measurably or by eye.

Incremental improvement Is not to be poo-poohed. He’s played 50 games. If he keeps improving, after 100, 150 games he will be a very valuable contributor.

Composure in critical moments really stood out.
Has always been a feature if you ask me. Unflappable, is Ross. The question has always been, can he lift his workrate and work more "inside" to then use that level head to see the path out of congestion and feed his more "dynamic" teammates on the outside? And can he do it often enough in a game to really hurt the opposition and help lift our midfield? The next question, is how long can we wait for him answer those questions? At some stage he has to either show he can, or be told he can't. I like what I'm seeing, but I would understand if some were impatient and decided it was time to cut our losses.

Sure, whatever you say old mate.

Anyways, back to Ross... What did you think of that neat sidestep and weighted pass to Shai? I don't really understand football so would be interested to get an opinion from a certified analyst such as yourself.

sincerely

AA

It was very nice to watch

The time really is now for Jack.

Was thinking about this last night.
Both Jacks (Ross and Graham) really need to do something and halt the drifting momentum they seem to have.
I think both would benefit from some extra training, maybe in terms of a sprint coaching regime over summer.
Both seem to be "playing within their limitations" and accepting they can't do some things.
Maybe change the limitations.
At the very least, some extra training may give them a bit more confidence to take on their roles with more zest.
