Most votes per minutes played - Rance 2 for a quarter and a bit !

4 defenders in top 9 - great recognition of their value.

Dan Riolis 10th raised my eyebrows as I thought he was close to being dropped 3 times over the season. Obviously coaches were very happy with his output.

They were much worse! Mum used to love KB because he was one of the few players who could string a sentence together.
Balmeys eloquence was acquired later in life.
Even the coaches struggled eg Tony Jewell.
Sheedy could always communicate.
No such thing as media training then.
Ghost was near mute in public.

Awesome Meatball won it but if Dusty wasn't in our top 5 players this year then I don't know football.
I'm not too surprised. He didn't appear to get too interested until after the bye.
Maybe it'll spur him on to improve his standing next year.

He was still our highest-ranked player on coaches' votes, even excluding the finals. Just ahead of Prestia but a long way clear of Edwards in 3rd.

Maybe the b&f uses different criteria, or the opposition coaches were giving him the votes.

You can tie in our B&F system but are ranked in Brownlow and Coaches Award voting. Dusty clear top ranked in GF in NS voting (and coaches voting) but top votes given to numerous players in B&F.

Not a huge fan of our voting system.

It was a 6th place finish but only 2 votes away from 5th and 3 votes away from 4th behind Lynch and Vlaustin. When you look at the round 4 suspension and round 21 game against Carlton when Dusty was out with soreness, so no votes possible - could easily have been another top 5 finish if circumstances were different. But.......if I had to choose between taking round 21 off to manage the body to ensure a fit and firing Dustin Martin for the final series over a placing in the B&F ............ no contest ;)

Yeah that was a bit of a surprise ,

its been a long season , and after the bye is stronger in my memory where he was clearly in the best , but going back to the beginning, there were some quiet ones from him, particularly the ones where he struggled with a tag

Great top 5 actually . Recognition of the blokes who stood up with the superstar and leadership vacuum. Prestia towards the end of the year had claims to being the best mid going around. Shed was phenomenal half forward, then relaunched the tiges backline with Stacky in tow and then changed game after game when thrown in the middle. Grimes Legend, Flossy legend and well, without Lynch especially early we don't win this flag

Sorted by votes per game basis.

A few surprises: Jack, Cotch, Nank ranked quite low (injury interrupted I know)

Baker rates highly, much higher than Short and Broad

Ross quite low, perhaps explains the decision not to go with him in the granny
