Ivan Soldo

Not sure he had a lot of mates at the Club (RFC). In fact I heard he wasn’t the nicest all round guy at the Club. Also either he or a family member had a little clip at the Club when leaving which was disappointing. Sounds like not the most popular at Port either. How can he say he is happy to go back to Port if no trade but doesn’twant to live in Adelaide?? That is the ultimate working from home expectation I have ever heard. What’s he gonna do when training? Dial in on a Zoom call? Sheesh….
If he doesn't want to live in Adelaid. Just move down the road to Elizabeth. In sure he'll love the summer heat soak and the sound of traffic on the Phillip highway. He'll be can do a self-guided tour of the old vehicle manufacturing industry. (y)

Soldo, Zerk-Thatcher, Rutagolea, Sweet, Richards, Lukosius and, of all people, Atkins have now been traded in over the last two trade periods by Port Adelaide.

Only Lukosius will be getting a game after the first handful of games next year, unless they have a huge run with injury. The future pick they just gave GC is looking pretty good.

I’ll clarify something for you so you can inform whoever told you that rubbish.
Ivan is one of the nicest blokes going around. Was very popular at the club with heaps of mates. And related to Maric who doesn’t suffer fools in any shape or form

Not everyone can have the same experience with people. Big Evan (Maric) is a deadset saint in my eyes. The person I heard it from was not a fan of Ivan Soldo. There are people that don’t like me. I mean that doesn’t make sense but there you go.

Yeah I know what you mean Jim Bob. Same for me. More fools them, I reckon. They wouldn’t know a good thing if they fell over it 😊

I ran a poll to see who actually likes you.
You were just pipped by the cheese sandwich :ROFLMAO:

Clearly they weren't a fan of him. It does seem he may have some "strong" influences around him who may not necessarily be the sharpest (including the lovely lass who'd probably had a few too many Woodstocks and jumped in to have a crack at us while Brian Taylor was interviewing him after one of Port's wins earlier in the season).
But to say he wasn't popular and didn't have many mates around the club is nonsense.

I've met Soldo, you wouldn't meet a nicer bloke.
I had a chat to him after he finally recovered from the knee but his foot was giving him issues.
If Port paid him the extra 150k they gave him, I would take him back.
He is one of us.

According to Doofus & Doofus on the radio this afternoon, he wasn't actually invited to the B&F. Hard to go if that's the case.

(If being the operative word.)
He's a listed player so why wouldn't he be invited? Unless he's crapped everyone off like he did in his last two seasons with us. Sounds hard to fathom.

I listened to what Cornes said about Soldo, talk about character assassination. What a prick he is.

During the past season I was on the train going to a game and sitting behind me were two blokes, one of whom was the uncle of a young player at Richmond. The other fella asked him how he liked the club and how he got on with other players. He said that the club was great and there was a lot of camaraderie with the young players who all came in around the same time but he said there was one player who was not popular with the others and was a bit of a *smile*. He named that player.

I’m not naming either of the players except to say they are still Richmond players now but I was reminded of this when I was reading about Ivan Soldo. Obviously I have never been in an AFL team environment but I am sure it is like any other work place. Some people like each other and some don’t, there are groups that form etc etc.

I feel for Ivan in this.

They are a truly bizarre collection of players for a team that is in contention.

Whether this is justified is another matter, but i can't help but think those who go on social media today attention to themselves create a bigger target. Those with partners who are on social media seem to get even more special attention.
I don't know Soldo and never met him. Not going to a B&F when you're leaving a club then coming back because trades have fallen through would be tough. Attending even tougher.
Missed a chance to demonstrate his courage there, maybe for a very good personal reason, but footy doesn't care too much for the "I".

The Best n Fairest has gained legs but has no truth to it. Port Adelaide has come out and said he was IN an actual wedding party and that is the reason he didnt attend.

I remember how Rimau used to take pot shots at Lids and Dusty after White left us.
