Ivan Soldo

Think Choldo probably gets the arse now for Nando save for injury or a rest for Ivan until 2021 whilst Nanks slowly works his way into it again.

We're playing for sheep stations now.

Devastated for this bloke. Love his story and love what he gives our team. It's a footy tragedy and will make it that much harder for us to win it all. Of course we still can.

My poor young bloke is distraught. He reckons the big fella is awesome.

Good luck in your recovery Ivan. See you back on the field hopefully late next year.

Just have to re-sign Nank now. Soldo likely misses all of next yr. Probably means CCJ won't be moved on either. Huge knock on impact this injury.

Here's to a quick and strong recovery Ivan!

Devastating.

The loss of the Nankervis and Soldo combination is a massive one.

I wish him all the best - deserves to be out there winning finals.

Soldo is a warrior for the Tigers.
His absence will be big and impactful.
Hope his replacement can show similar signs of intensity, competitiveness and endeavour as the big fella brought to the team and the contest.

I really like Ivan and would be gutted if he missed a fair chunk of 2021.

But in the context of 2020 his loss is coverable. We desperately want Lynch back pronto, but Soldo is ... coverable.

1) shorter quarters = less fatigue on primary ruck and Nank is finding his run

2) we are not a high clearance team. we like to degrade, then pressure. the return of prestia and edwards will offset the potential clearance bleed in any case.

3) Chol will not bring the ruck chops but offers more as a swingman, able to bob up dangerously in F50 if Lynch / Jack are getting scragged as usual

4) with Astbury back we will be forced to lose a runner like markov. bringing chol in would restore some mobility.

5) Hardwick said Mabs was "very close" this week. I don't think Chol is light years behind Soldo in the pecking order.

Gee his knee looked loose afterwards.

I could be wrong, but to my eyes his knee buckled a second time when walking off the ground, and then he looked to be limping worse afterwards, indicating more damage may have been caused that was in addition to the initial impact. Might be wrong, just speculating.

If a player’s knee buckles and ligament damage is suspected, it’s probably not worth the risk of letting them walk off the ground unassisted. I can’t think of any practical reason to let that happen. Of course, they can’t be expected to assist in the first place unless they’re aware of the possible injury.

Depending on the result of Soldo's scan, if it is ACL with Medial damage thats a bad one and will be the year.

CCJ might not be going anywhere next year now.

Amazing how one injury can change the whole list management strategy.

Maybe we give Humphrey a ring and say mate come to the Tigers for a year after you retire from the Navies you just might get that flag.

Knee instability often Indicates ACL tear thats the main structural ligament holding the knee together inside along with the PCL in a X type pattern.

From the vison he might also have sustained medial ligament injury and possible cartilage damage too but the scans will tell the tale for Ivan and Tommy.

Also the option of Dave going back to defence and Noah playing relief ruck a few minutes a quarter also where his athleticism equals more weaponary around the ground than Chol.

Chollys lack of intensity is concerning in finals for mine.

Broad in as the spare tall to assist down back. That gets Noah off the leash, and he can return to his Key Defence Post next season.
