Ivan Maric

Just read his interview comments on the club website.

What an amazing recruit he has been. Outstanding character. Exactly the type of leader you want mentoring our kids. Delivers on and off the field.

And made an impressive appearance on the Club podcast this week too. Extremely well spoken. Top bloke.

They were the same thing. the guy has the wisdom of a 200 year old man, the voice of Barry White (as they comment on in the podcast), the competitive instinct of a warrior and -of course - the hair of a complete rockstar.

Strongly recommend you listen to him on Talking tigers if you haven't. in a scoop, Greeners cheekily and unwittingly asks him about his ceo role at the St Albans soccer club, and whether he's had to sack a coach yet, and he said (rather painfully) that he had just had to do it last week! that was a bizzare moment, but he's great to listen to.

Champion player. Fantastic bloke.

Bizarre for sure but also funny when Greeners threw in the line about "have you had to sack a coach?".
Ivan handled it very well.
Greeners got a bit embarrassed by it - especially when the boys gave him heaps about it afterwards.
Good listening.

We should be finding a role for him once he reaches the end of his playing career. Would be great in a development role. I'd be too scared not to play for him.

I think he's going to take over the Liam Neeson role in the Taken films when the Irishman gets too old to do them any more.

Great call! Has the hunched over walking style down to a tee.

Was a monster. 2nd most contested possies and clearances. He's like an extra midfielder when he's on song.

As I said elsewhere, you know what your goin to get from Maric, gets beat by the top shelf, flogs the bottom half rucks and is as competive as the come against the others....he's a beauty the big lug

How much scarier did he look with the busted schnoz? Even going off to get it plugged every so often it was still a solid dominant performance.

Yep, even on days when he's beaten in the ruck, he still does a power of work around the ball, massive work ethic.

This is the one matchup against North that I am genuinely concerned by. Goldstein will beat Ivan in the ruck and will more than match him around the ground.
Ivy's one advantage is the eye of the Tiger.
