Injury Report - Season 2023

Would seem likely. Its unfortunate as he was good for us last year but having a hip injury, coming back for a half then the very next week you barely make 5 mins before the hip again. The prognosis in the injury report suggests what you say. Last year of his contract, nearly 34 and listed as indefinite.

Better get Clarke out looking for those MSD beauties again. We've done well with them so far, Pickett, Parker was serviceable and Bauer has promise.

Another tall prospect and a small forward would probably be perfect for us. Anyone know if there is anyone like that around??
;) ;) ;)

The injury ravaged Tigers have 15 players on their injury list and face the prospect this week of having no Richmond-listed player playing in their VFL team  .

As at R5 2023 we have a big injury problem.

First, I don't count Tarrant an injry. I count him retired. Sure, I hope he gets back.

Our entire ruck division is out. That would normally hurt any club a lot. (Collingwood atm.) We're in a very unusual position having two developing rucks on the cusp of AFL standard for change ruck duties. Neigther of them is anywhere near #1 ruck standard today. But they are about to be accelerated.

Overall this is very good. Even if they both totally flop we get actual knowledge to replace theory and delusion. We learn our own list.

Overall it could be real bad because we may lose some winnable football games. That said if this was our only injury challenge I still count it a blessing.

This ruck crisis is exacerbated by Lynch being out. We need Samson there. So it puts a lot of pressure on (we all assume) Miller. "Miller is no shrinking Violet." Nobody ever said that. Big burden for the young fellow. We will almost certainly play an anti ruck like Marlion at times.

Prestia out is not the blow it might be because he's been looking a bit lame anyway. He's in no kind of for. And maybe we can get him right. At least for spells. But he, Lynch and Martin are our best three players so two of them are out. Big injury toll. On Prestia, I have not yet marked him retired because he aint a hip - he's a calf. Not good in a gerrie but myair, maybe we can nurse him.

We do have to new mids and Grandpa to help out so we can bump along.

Short's out. That's not bad in itself. One injury is nothing. But the other bloke who'd do his job - Ross has been struggling with injury and is back in the Magoos. And Graham is out. We're down three outside mids. Juddy and Arthur get bigger jobs. Ralphsmith was more constructive than Bailsmith last week. 7SI to 5SI. Marlion gets more responsibilty and was up to it last week.

Broad is back in two weeks. Short won't be far away. Soldo will be back inside a month. And Broad in two weeks from suspension. Graham two after that. Prestia hopefully much more sound in a month.

Over that month we have Sydney in Adelaide. Melbourne at the G. Suns at Telstra Dome and then Eagles at the G. We gotta win two and maybe squeak one this week. But we are in the *smile* right now. We wanna hit the bye with 7 wins. We can regroup from there if we have some luck with our crocks.

Our injury challenge is mainly about geriatrics. Our season challenge is about youth. We gotta bring some of our many prospects on.

On injury crisitunity, StKilda has been on top of the AFL Injury ladder all year. Destroyed, it would seem. But they're on top of the real ladder.

Because players we might have thought were crucial to them have been replaced by youth. Really, they've only got Steele and King out. Steele is not Dion Prestia. He is replaceable. King is not TJL. StKilda reinvigorated by youth. In the phoney season. But it augurs well long term.

Where’d this Prestia injury news come from?
