How many can be cut??

We are in for a minimum of 2 years of absolute pain until we rid ourselves of the crap on our list.

Being realistic this year i would remove

Delist
Johnson
Bowden
Pettifer
Polak
Brown
Richardson
Sylvester(rookie) doesn't count as a delist

Trade
Tuck
Raines
Mcmahon
Schulz

That would be 10 players removed from our list if trades were to eventuate for that group as well. With Nahas and Browne elevated it would leave us with 8 ND and Pre season picks. I am more than happy to bring in 8 new kids and give them a go rather than watch the same crap run around again and again. Following year would do the same and all of a sudden we have a new list. Sick and tired of watching the same garbage run around each year and give us nothing. The culture needs to be ripped out immediately and until those players leave we have no chance.
You'd get rid of Richo and keep Hughes and JON? ???
Don't give up your day job mate.

Said it ad nauseum and i will say it again, this club is gonna lament until at least 18 of the current list are gone.

This list is bona fide garbage, full of deficient, undersized, underskilled, brainless, skilless types.

All these guys must go in next 2 years. IMO its glaringly obvious that none on this list are going to be players to take the RFC to sustained finals appointments

Schulz
Pattison
Polak
Pettifer
King
JON
Polo
White
Raines
Mcguane
McMuffin
Coughlan
Brown
Simmonds
Bowden
Silvester
Hughes
Tuck
Richardson will retire

Thats not even accounting for questionable performers in Graham, Connors, Edwards, Hislop and Thomson.

Geez this club is in a massive mess and looks the Darkside rants of many including myself are now being seen with the realism and truth in which they were written.

List is pure garbage, its the lasting legacy of Wallet and Miller

What hurts even more and makes an even bigger mockery of those in charge is the pure fact it has been common knowledge for past couple of years that the drafting is gonna be compromised over coming years yet the requisite list management has not been undertaken tying the clubs hands when it needs big big list changes and now the talent to re bvuild will not be availabe.

The club must take the bit between the teeth and cut hard and deep real deep to give emselves any chance of avoiding the bottom 4 reaches of the ladder for next 3 years cos the current list aint gonna go anywhere said it year in year out.

I thought there was a limit as to how many you can boot off the list in total (trade and delisting)

There is a minimum of 3 that MUST be cut every year.

There is no limit to how many can be cut tho.

Essendon axed bout 12 two years ago.

Geez someone let me at the list ffs, and whilst im at it let me at the assclown and inept imbecile who re signed the likes of Tuck, Schulz and King

Gezz this club is so inept its laughable.

No the list is the list and the bottom line is that is is shitful and has been for years.

The club aint going anywhere for some years yet im afraid.

False dawns are what has crippled this joint and BS spin doctors and liars and inept management.

Have a real good hard look at the list without the rose coloureds

Then more list cloggers will pop up from recent drafts. It's a never ending cycle at Punt Road. ;)
Every club has them, Barnzy, even the best clubs, the trick is to have fewer of them. At the moment that's the majority of the Richmond list, it should be the other way around.

Indeed and that's not going to happen with the GC and WS coming in.

Unbelievable isnt it. King a 3 year deal, what the? And then Schulz who we were trying to flog off and dont accept a pick 28, we then give him another 2 year deal. What the?

Graystar - we must have 3 national draft selections.

As for minimum delistings there is no minimum. We will get rid of about 8 or so I reckon including trades. We have left our run too late to clean the list out and re-build completely. That should have happened in 2005 - 2004 was a good start IMO.

Are we that bad? Depends if you are happy making the 8 then no we're not far away. With a good coach and improvement in our younger players we could make the 8 in the next 2 years.

Are we far away from a flag - oh yeah - miles away. In fact I cannot see a premiership in the foreseeable future of 5 years.

Either can I, but they'd have locked you up in 2003 for saying you could see Hawthorn winning one. Or 2005 for that matter.

Just read the thread.

The original question was about how many we are permitted to cut. Seems like the answer is as many as we want.

So how many do we want to cut? Never mind the details about who gets another year of life. Does anybody think we should cut less than 8? It's terrifyingly easy to find that many.

But what is the maximum? My own uneducated thought is that we cut 9 this year and the about same next year.

I doubt we will get much through trading. That's the problem with a weak list - trades for second tier players will result in late round draft picks or other second year players. So the number that we cut will be made up through drafting kids.

A bit scary really. But what do other posters think is a realistic maximum to cut?

Thanks Smiley....back to the original thread. If we cut say 8 or 9, then how do we replace them? Where are these replacements? PSD plus national draft??? I also wonder who would be available from other clubs. Nothing I have read or heard indicates any quality players being on the market, except perhaps Lake, but I doubt he would leave the Bullies, especially for us. What a tangled web we have weaved over the past few years.

The club must get of 18 from the current list over next 2 years once again incompetance has hurt the club.

Johnston and Pettifer or Schulz shouldve been moved on last year and 2 more kids added to the list as blind freddie could see the draft being stuffed going forward to ease the list clogging for next year.

But Nooooo the club is now forced to hold onto duds cos there wont be enough quality to go round after this draft.

Shitful , ineptitude at the highest order again re RFC list management.

This club is going nowhwere for many years yet list is absolute garbage.
