Hot weather

42 in the shade on the verandah here at the moment....with a bullet. Bring on winter.

Getting a bit scary here. Wind really picking up. Hope there are no fires.

Do you need rain up your way Rosy? It's been terribly dry around most of Victoria for months now.

Desperately need rain TF. Bad drought. Fingers crossed for a good early break.

BOM keeps forecasting huge rain 5 days ahead, but keeps diminishing as the day gets closer. Really disappointing.

Walked the main street on my lunch break, two people complaining, "Ohhh its a warm one, i stuffed."
and "Oh, its so hot, i hate the hot weather,"

it was 29 at 1pm.

::)

Not sure about where you are but it's very humid here today bunnerz. That always makes me feel hotter than the higher dry temperatures.

Was very humid in Melbourne as well this morning. Sit still and it's cold, go for a brisk walk and it's sweaty weather.

Same here. Too much sweat no matter how much water I drink.

Good news is that El Nino's starting to weaken and big falls expected tomorrow...maybe up to 50mm in certain parts of Victoria.

On the way to work this morning, the thermometer in my car bottomed out at -14.
Yes, that's *minus* 14.

I'd much prefer that to this relentless heat. I'm a winter person. Might have to apply for a job over there.

I hope it changes, but so far it looks like a heatwave for the 4 day Christmas period in Victoria next week.

You could get a job at Fairfax, TF. High 20's/low 30's is magnificent summer weather, not a "heatwave"!

We're about 4 degrees below the average for last December in Melbourne, with five days under 20. Due for some warm ones.

Current models show 32deg+ for all 4 days possibly continuing through the week up to Dec 29.

Melbourne CBD temperature + 5deg = Northern Suburbs temperature. ;D

Fixing evap coolers on roofs today isn't much fun at all :(
Evap coolers, from my experience with them you may as well go and turn the heater on.
