Don’t forget Houli also did a calf in the first quarter, but played on with it.

I think it’s good the club kept it quiet - meant the cats couldn’t exploit or run off him during the game.

I owe Houli and apology as I just thought he was having an off game.

Copped absolute *smile* for ever going for the Tigers as a youngster (best mate did). All my family bar 1 brother go for Geelong. hahahahaahahahahahahaha, classic Berwick, I also know Lyons quite well from back in the day, when he was the photog for the Geelong News and Addy and we'd all cover the Geelong Supercats in the NBL. Havent spoke to him since probably the late 80's when I moved to live in the States and can't say I'm in any hurry to ever change that situation, "FLOG extraordinaire" that one, embarrassing to even admit to knowing him to be honest. Cheers mate !

At one point DTLD was manning Ablett for example, and it seemed they were generating mis-matches everywhere.

The other noticeable thing was the Cats had a plus one in defense whereas we didnt.

Kudos to Dimma for what happened next.

From late in the 2nd qtr we finally got those defensive match-ups right. And the loose man in our forward line was eliminated by taking our extra man in the midfield to the fwd line and making the loose man accountable.

From here on it became a true man on man game, just like the good old days.

And from this point on the Tigers got the ascendency, and the rest as they say is history.

Cant finish this without acknowledging Dusty. He may not be the best player I've ever seen, but there has never been, nor will there ever be, a better big game player. What a priviledge to have watched him in action.

Great stuff Tigers, so happy to have witnessed this season in QLD.

finally watching the replay. Seems odd they drafted in Voss for the coverage. Channel 7 regulars missing.
 
My son lives in Brissy & was at the GF, he came down to Melb. for 2017 & 19, so he's seen the trifecta.

He sent me a text after the game which simply said "We go alright" Loved it.

I could have done without Taylor. The bloke is so irritating with his opinions and histrionics and unable to recognize a player on the ball half the time

KB had been pressing for Neil Balme to be brought back to Punt Rd for years.
KB knows about the qualities he brings to a football club especially when there's a crisis.

Yep. Commentary team could do with some new blood.

My Mrs (and the mother in law) ironically were some of the most against female commentators in the footy when they were being introduced a few years ago. Myself, I didn’t ever really mind it.

Daisy Pearce is usually pretty spot on as a commentator. That said is more a “special comments” commentator, not one that calls a game. And have heard Kelly Underwood on ABC radio a fair bit. She calls a game really well. A few years ago she got a bit of a run on TV commentary. Not sure why she didn’t become a more entrenched member of the Commercial TV commentary world.

Perhaps using these ladies’ talents more would add an extra dimension and freshen the commentary line up.
