With 5 minutes to go I kept yelling for Dusty to kick one more and secure the Normie. And what a goal it was.

Just want to say to the person who said putting balta in the ruck was a stupid idea.

That's the way I see it as well. Royce won us Finals by kicking goals and gathering possessions that gave us the momentum when we needed it, just like Dusty. It was easier for them to target Royce in those days. They can't do that with Dusty these days.
Just watching the replay - it’s magnificent, Geelong absolutely no composure in the third, they went to water AGAIN.

Watching the replay - this is just awesome. For old men like me, the second half is just footy perfection.
It's going to be very hard to argue against. For me, he is up there with the other fantastic no. 4 - Royce Hart - who was captain as well as a similar match-winning player (at CHF) in the huge matches.
Royce lost games due to crippling knee problems which curtailed his career. But, now, Dusty might just have taken the title. Should say that he is to my mind a greater player than Bartlett who was virtually a fully 'outside' player.
(Too 'young' to ever see the one and only Jack Dyer though).
Dusty Martin is a football phenomenon.
I was one that didn’t like the idea - sooo happy to be wrong. He was massive.
Part of the problem is to base it on the H & A season. It's like declaring the winner of the Cox Plate 400m before the finish line.
