Gotta say I'm relieved.

Lets start next year with the idea that one sub 180cm defender is enough for the stand and deliver game. Also lets look at how we can open our forward line for one on one contests like others do to us.

There's two starting points.

Don’t think the PA loss was disastrous, we played pretty well that night in hostile territory ,,,,save “disasterous” for sec half of the year where it was week in week out
I think it damaged the belief of the side somewhat and also damaged our air of invincibility.

The loss to Melbourne confirmed it and no one was scared of the Tigers after that and we were in trouble.

The wins over the Dogs and Saints pumped a bit of the water out and held off the listing for a little, and gave hope of a launch to come but also came with major injuries and eventually we took on too much water and after that month away culminating in the Eagles loss we were pretty much done mentally and physically.

I'm not relieved. At least Richmond playing finals gives us something to look forward to during lockdown.
It feels so weird not being part of it this year. Unfamiliar territory.

The really disappointing moment for me was about 20 points up with 10 mins to go against WC. We played very well to that point considering the game was in Perth. Win that, and we would have had momentum up for the last handful of games and into the finals. From that moment onwards, the confidence was gone, game plan gone, wheels off …

So how much do we need to win by and Essendon to lose by to make it - if other teams lose that we need to

Thought the Swans game was a one off , but it ended up being how we would play for the majority of the year.

Us supporters as well as the players after long campaigns could do with a refresh.

We aren't going to automatically build the next window with our supposed great draft hand considering our first pick won't be until the 8-10 region but 4 picks inside the top 30 is a nice start.

Think we will come back better with a proper pre season , maybe not to the level we were at but it's not all doom & gloom.

Essendon to lose by 154
And us to win by 177.
I can see it happening
Understand it is a Zips zinger but I could possibly see the Essendon scenario happening; they are Essendon.

But the way our forward line works it would take us 3 games to score 177 points let alone win by that much; a moot point regardless.

So how much do we need to win by and Essendon to lose by to make it - if other teams lose that we need to
my understanding is our winning margin, and the bombers losing margin needs to combine to about 25 goals.
it aint over yet!

I'll take that rather than getting bundled out like we did in 2018.

It'll fire the boys up missing the finals all together its gonna the spur they need, and if it isnt we are done.

Rest easy mate without anxiety and let the others play for the Covid Cup scraps we've proved ourselves already.

Thank god it's not closer.

Imagine having to barrack for the Pies to get up.
Never.
I want Essendon to bend them over so they can spend the next 6 months knowing they will be a bottom 2 team again.
*smile* them. They are finally waking up to the damages Buckley did to the club especially when he got desperate for success.
Besides Jordon Degoey, Moore and Qyannoor there are no first round picks since 2015-2020
2 first rounders for Treloar. Goneski
2 first rounders for Beams
Goneski
1 first rounder Stephenson goneski
That sets the club back easy 10 years.

As weird as it seems tonight's loss has finally ended what has been a season of nothing less than shithousery on all fronts, including Rona BS, rules on the run, the anti Tiger agenda, the players not ready for the season and the resulting injuries and disjointed footy that failed to recognise our game plan had instantly become redundant.

Relief is what I'm feeling, as the failure to launch along with the expectation of one actually was somewhat draining and left me quite apathetic, and indifferent towards a season that never really got going and then crashed over a cliff faster than a wrought iron hang gklider.

I'm just glad its over we are done for the year and have been for most of it, and the side who have given us so much joy and pride over the past few years can be put to pasture for a well earned break finally as they deserve one.

The thought of sneaking into the finals only to be bundled out on the big stage by a bunch of pretenders boiled my pisss also so I am also glad that this will not happen.

Hopefully the boys can re group recharge re focus and hit 2022 ready and raring to go unlike our start to 2021.

Bring on the trade draft and let the others fight for the * Premiership (no RFC involvement).

Here's to the boys re asserting themselves in 2022.
I agree. Losing an EF in the same fashion that GWS thrashed us on Friday would be remembered for a long time. Getting knocked out last week will be forgotten by next week.
