Gotta say I'm relieved.

In the old days without cameras and analytics and a bureaucracy running the game, we might've won six or seven flags in a row.

Feel as though footy has lost something this year that it can never get back. Focusing on other interests to fill the void.
Agreed wholeheartedly LTRTR.

Footy is not the only thing that has lost something it can never get back , in my opinion, society in general has.

I look it at this way too.. what a run from 2013 when I was just happy to get to and watch a final. That puts it into perspective for me, 7-8 years of wonder that I thought I'd never live through.

We never really got going this year Short break after winning :cupgold CV then so many long term injuries
Lets go to the draft get some great kids and a couple of trades and let’s go in 2022
In the meantime anyone wanting to follow a passionate team with a great culture support Melbourne Storm in NRL finals

Yep GO STORM ...sticking it up the NRL since their very inception.

NRL uses the Storm and moreso the 3 Queensland Sides as Cash Cows to keep their competition going but the NSWRL oops NRL and the NRL has a bias against them.

I’m recognising the journey to here. We reload and could be on another multi-premiership run.

Can’t say I am relieved even though the writing has been on the wall for a long time now.

I was hoping like hell we could squeeze one more out of this squad and I reckon every year that now passes will make it that much harder. We have seen the best of Houli, Cotch, Edwards, Jack and Astbury and you can’t easily or quickly replace over 1,000 games of experience with all that finals leadership that goes with it.

I am not as bullish as others that think we can easily bounce back to where we were - I sadly reckon the ride we have had, as wonderfull as it was, is over.

Not bitter, just sad it’s over.

I'll say this at least.

Its a damn site less painful than 2018's ending.

We've won 2 flags since then

It was such a battle. This year was hoping we could string more than a week of good footy together.

Between rule changes, a horror run of injuries, COVID, fatigue from playing a high intensity style for four years with an extra 15 odd higher intensity finals and an aging list coming off a short break it’s a miracle we aren’t further off the pace.

We traded into picks this year, we’ve supposedly got cap space to spend as well this year so I don’t think the club would be in total disbelief the way it transpired.

Got get a bunch of kids, some smart free agents, refreshed tired bodies and minds and come back ready to go.

Still in the mix. Still clubs that would be nervous about next year.

As weird as it seems tonight's loss has finally ended what has been a season of nothing less than shithousery on all fronts, including Rona BS, rules on the run, the anti Tiger agenda, the players not ready for the season and the resulting injuries and disjointed footy that failed to recognise our game plan had instantly become redundant.

Relief is what I'm feeling, as the failure to launch along with the expectation of one actually was somewhat draining and left me quite apathetic, and indifferent towards a season that never really got going and then crashed over a cliff faster than a wrought iron hang gklider.

I'm just glad its over we are done for the year and have been for most of it, and the side who have given us so much joy and pride over the past few years can be put to pasture for a well earned break finally as they deserve one.

The thought of sneaking into the finals only to be bundled out on the big stage by a bunch of pretenders boiled my pisss also so I am also glad that this will not happen.

Hopefully the boys can re group recharge re focus and hit 2022 ready and raring to go unlike our start to 2021.

Bring on the trade draft and let the others fight for the * Premiership (no RFC involvement).

Here's to the boys re asserting themselves in 2022.
Well said Graig
We need time to reset.
Good time for the champs to have a break

Agree, it’s a relief. Sad, but still a relief.

Warning lights were flashing as far back as round 3 when Sydney took us apart on the G. The reactor went critical in round 8 when we were 9pts up at half time but Geelong went on to get thump us by 63pts. Again, at the G, our former fortress. The rest was just a slow, inevitable meltdown.

We are a system based team but the system doesn’t work anymore.
Round 3' for sure. Could have been an aberration in any of last 4 years, but results since have rubber stamped that game as the start of the slide.

For me, the Swans game told me that our season was in jeopardy and we never really got going after that. However, happy we rode the crest for four years so now the club needs to sit back, review the mistakes and problems, reset, rest, recuperate, recruit well where needed (including coaching) and come back fighting.

Thats the only live game i went to this year and our style was cut to pieces.
The umpiring didn't help but we didn't stop that chip chip and then bolt game style

Yep they gave us a flogging in every category that game.

Our blokes didnt even turn up and looke to be struggling physically after a hard game agauinst the Hawks in the heat the week before that we just scrapped our way out of.

It was a warning shot that the effort the following week in that disastrous loss to the Kochies where we kicked ourselves out of it and the umpires pulled out all stops to keep them in it then help them over the line coverred our plight up somehwat.

For fellas like us L2R2R, footy will never be the same.
It's now a product, a commodity, entertainment ... not footy like we used to know and love

Get where your coming from as much as our team never really got in the swing , either did I , not being able to go with normal crowds prob the big one, the novelty of watching from home has worn off , and that’s only gonna go one way from this point and that’s drift off further . Not clubs fault , just the environment we re in right now . Take a long break boys , freshen up and plan for next year

Don’t think the PA loss was disastrous, we played pretty well that night in hostile territory ,,,,save “disasterous” for sec half of the year where it was week in week out
