Goodbye Mabior Chol

That's the story of his whole career even at VFL level. Extremely inconsistent. Doesn't have the killer instinct required imo. If CCJ comes on as expected I can't see how Chol fits in unless his form somehow changes dramatically.
Yes but inconsistency is one of the telltale signs of an inexperienced player which he still is in terms of games. You can see the same with Ratagolea at the Moggs or even the highly-rated Naughton at the Dogs.

So far Cholly's career b looking like following Majak's rather than Aliir's. Tempting n tantalising moments but just not quite able to go the full monty. Don't mind that he's still got next year on the list but he needs to find some consistency of input soon.

Watching the Bulldogs game and Chol was on fire. If he could replicate that regularly our 2nd ruck/forward worries are over.
Went up against English in that match and English, while talented is still very much a boy amongst men in terms of ruckman. Embarrassed himself in the following weeks when we went up against some more established ruckmen and just flat-out failed to compete. His efforts (or lack there of) against Witts in particular come to mind.

It wasn’t really in the ruck. Was more what he did in the forward line. Went in hard at one contest, both players got knocked on their backsides, but there was an attack on the ball that you see from him all too rarely.

I believe he is building year on year. we have seen the improvement but not the consistently yet.
Starts next year as a 24yo and 6th season on the list. Not too many get that sort of time to make it. Surely he needs to find that consistency in 2021 or it's over? Issue is, unless there's some injuries to a couple of talls how does he get games to show consistency? Tough one.

i reckon there is a starting spot for him next year, as back up ruck, 3rd tall. if he plays well enough he will stay in the team, if he doesnt he wont.

come finals time we may be happy to go back to 1ruck, but we wont play all year like that.

Due to Soldo's injury, Chol stays for me.
Has shown he can play and we need the depth.

He will need a very good preseason probably under new coaches and someone to work on his mind before he is good enough to be a regular first teamer. Having flashes of brilliance is not enough

Mabs has improved every year, but not in a linear or rapid fashion. Often a leap forward followed by a fall back, nonetheless, he has at times showed exciting glimpses of his capabilities. His performance in what many of us thought was the game of the year against Port was a leap. Yes, he failed in the Brisbane final, with some less than stellar efforts, but watch it again in the cold light and you'll see he did some good things too.

He's 23, going on 21. Has played 21 games. I think he'll improve again.

Think they couldn’t rookie him again?
Overstayed his rookie welcome.
It was either uplist or delist. I’d hazard a guess it was 60/40
2021 would have been his 6th year on rookie list

Pick 2016 Rookie draft ( held on 27/11/15)
Delisted 31/10/2018
Re Rookied 23/11/2018
Upgraded 11/12/2020

What a journey !!

What type of player do his supporters envisage he’ll end up like? Tom Lynch, Jeremy Cameron, Eric Hipwood or Reese Stanley? I just don’t see him as a forward. If he could at least hold his marks he’d have a chance.
Has no aggression or willingness to hurt.
Delist.
