Golf

Watched Woods play a few practice holes yesterday. Still walks with a very noticeable limp.

Rory carrying the ball 325 yards on the range in cold conditions. Carrying. FMD.

Shuffles 3 putts from 9ft. Commentators talking about his frustration.

Has missed on other holes from 2ft/5ft/5ft/9ft/8ft

Still 2 under. He did nail a 30 footer for eagle.

Forget which hole it was (haven't watched it all yet) but he missed a shocker from 2.5 feet.

Will say it again. Steve Sands last week: "Boy, you don't normally see that from Scottie." What he meant to say was "Boy, you're seeing this every week from Scottie." *** idiot.

And Woods hits a massive shank. “Back spasm.” Jack would have just said “Terrible swing. I shanked it.”.

Seeing a heap of them on Tour the last 2 or 3 years. Strange…

Matsuyama with an incredible back nine. Gunna run out an easy winner it looks like after starting 6 behind.

Fun to see the snail like Cantlay/Shauffle blow it.

Yama Yama Dooo ! Matsuyama goes ballistic.

And what about Cantlay. Yet again he plodded around, 2 holes behind the group in front of him. And yet again the Tour does nothing about it. Between him and Spieth they’re *** unbearable.

And of course Soufflé does his usual trick of just muddling around when in contention and meekly falling by the wayside.

Anyway who cares. Glad Hideki won.

They were 2 holes behind after 5 holes. That is pathetic. It was great watching the "star" duo blow it. Just absolutely unlikeable both of them.

Shuffles finished last in strokes gained putting. Last season he was 1st in SG tota, Off the Tee & Approach to Green. And 162nd in strokes gained putting!!

If his putting does click he is the only player capable of winning the grand slam.

Did you know they are friends ? How many *** times did they have to say that ? That's one of the things that annoys the hell out me with those dumbed down American announcers. They just repeat the same story line ad nauseam. Actually, did you hear the producer in the first 3 rounds telling them what to say all the time ? You could just hear it in the background. He's the one to blame.

Producer: "Remember....Cantlay is a local guy." Jim Nantz: "And here's Cantlay on 15...grew up down the road in Long Beach." Over and over and over.

Yeah Snuffler is last in SG for putting on the entire Tour. Wow. That is staggering. Number one player in the world is last for putting. Quite amazing.

They love schmaltz and cornball *smile*. Frank Nobilo has bought into it and Immelman also.

I miss Faldo. And the DP tour commentators don't carry on with all that garbage, they are easily better to listen to.

And Baker Finch. He’s a softo sap to listen to.

Yeh, I like IBF, he's a modest guy and his golf knowledge is great but unfortunately you hang around those yanks too much and you obviously absorb that sap.

And the "Ossie" players fold like a pack of wet cards when it comes to the final crunch rounds again, even Uncle Adam Scott who I thought might be a long shot, surprise chance given a relatively good 3rd rd where he hardly found a fairway.

Could we get Hideki to take all our guys out for a big serve of high-protein Japanese meat-and-rice balls or something. That final rd was fantastic; that's what you call a golfer stepping up and making the clutch shots when the pressure was at the extreme.

Even all the Yanks choked at the death - great to see with all that jingoistic commentary and biased hype turn sour.

Augusta have made just the one change to the course for this years Masters.

Tee box on 2 moved back and to the left around 10 yards.

Very subtle change but will make it a more challenging driving hole now. Fairway bunker on the right will come more into play.

mmmm...Masters...cannot wait.

Has anyone ever applied for tickets in ballot and got them? First time or after years of trying?

Or if you want to go, is it best to do with a tour?

I've done both MD.

Did a golf tour with 4 days at Augusta back in 2014.

Went to the Tuesday practice round last year with a ticket I got in the ballot (and purchased a Monday ticket on the grounds)

Would recommend the tour option first up. Ballot only gets you one day on course and it's nowhere near enough time for a first time visit imo.

Was it the 4 days of tournament or a mix of practice tournament?

Did you play any courses whilst there?

I think I will look at the package tour option to save some hassles.
