Sheffler is a shadow of the guy from 6 months ago. his putting woes have dented his confidence. hope he can get it back.

Sort of want the US to make some sort of comp of it

Great scenes at Ryder Cup. Cantlay showed some real steel.
Lots of passion. Hopefully the euros can bring it home.

Burns was in poor form coming in. Brendan Chamblee pointed out Burns was the poorest yank in strokes ganied iron play and off the tee and was staggered he was chosen for the foursomes. Proved to be correct, Burns was poor.
I like Chamblee but he is often very good at producing a bunch of stats after the event. Burns hit back hard on day 2 proving that he had a lot more in him than he showed on day 1. He was putrid on day 1 and great on day 2.

The Euros were average in the afternoon on day 2. Rahm, Hovland have been lights out. Rose very good. Fleetwood ok. But there’s quite a few Euros not playing that great. Hoojgaard and Aberg struggled. MacIntyre only got it together late otherwise Rose carried him. Even Rory and WUG, they’ve had their odd great moment, but they’re not quite on song imo. Rory’s missed a LOT of fairways and greens and WUG has missed a lot of putts. It’s really the very bad play of the Americans that has Europe out front.

The singles is by far and away the Americans best format so the Euros better find another level to keep the foot on their throats. Very very hard, but not completely impossible for the Americans if they find form.

Why isn’t Cantlay wearing a hat ? He’s weird that guy. Suck *smile* Spieth. Made an arse of himself again in the foursomes.

He did call it before he played. He questioned throwing him in the foursomes. He was proven correct with the call. He didn't question his spot in the team, more that he wasn't suited in the foursomes format.

Hard to know about the hat, it was said it was in protest at not being paid to play. Unsure how true that is. Chamblee did think Cantlay wanting to be paid to play Ryder Cup was definitely true.

First pairing going off at around 8.30pm so not a bad follow up to the NRL GF.

Fair enough.

Chamblee had a real crack at Cantlay a few weeks ago. Referenced him and Filthy Phil Mickelson together. Said that like Filthy Phil, Cantlay always thinks he’s the smartest person in the room.

He’s weird.

NRL GF into the Ryder Cup with 14 odd hours of NFL kicking off from around midnight.

Thankfully it’s a public holiday up here tomorrow.

I’m aiming to pull off an all night and day marathon.

What did Spieth do?

What did Spieth do?
Spieth, as usual, had rope hooked another one off the tee, way way left and into rough that looked like the Burmese jungle. They found the ball then Spieth wanted relief because he said the ball was embedded.

The rules official told him there’s no way that ball is embedded. Spieth cracked it and asked for another rules official who told him the same thing. Spieth wanted someone to take a picture of it and wanted to rail further. Fleetwood was shaking his head like “WTF”. Sam Torrance said something like “how could a ball possibly be embedded with such a heavy canopy of grass like that ? Impossible”.

This went on for like 10 mins before the second rules official told him to shut up and for Thomas to play.

Interestingly, Thomas had a hack at it, then the ball hit Thomas after as it recoiled off the rough. I always thought that if the ball hit the player playing it, it was a penalty stroke but none was applied.

They lost the hole anyway.

I laugh at this because it smacks of good old USA entitlement.

Hope they get flogged in the singles tonight. They need a dose of reality.

Must say too from what I’ve seen the Euro crowds have been quite respectable to the Yanks. A far cry from the boorish *smile* the yank crowds carry on with on their turf.

Yeah. I’ve heard one or two boorish yells from one or two fans but nothing anywhere near what the multitude of US fans come out with and the way they carry on.

I hope they smash them to pieces tonight. Really want Rose to beat Cantlay and Rory to beat Burns, Lowry to beat Spieth, and Hojgaard to beat Schauffele who carried on like a dhead after the last Ryder Cup. MacIntyre over Clark would also be good given the way Clark carried on earlier in the week. Another fwit.

It was deathly silence amongst the huge crowd when Scheffler teed off. In America, the Americans yell everything and anything at the Europeans just before, during and after they swing. They were a disgrace at Whistling Straights 2 years ago.
