Well done, Tenacious!

The scrutineers are running their eyes over the final calculations. Suffice to say there has been an incredible last day comeback. Once the final totals have been double and triple checked will post the results.
Take your time - they‘ve only finished the vote count of the last Victorian Senate spot. Unfortunately that went to one of Clive’s brain dead acolytes

Agree with the sentiments here. Fantastic tournament, awesome golf course. Love the way it challenged players, allowed for so many different approaches and couldn't just be overpowered. Who would have thought you'd see a downhill par 3 of not much more than 100-120 yards or a 315 yard straight par 4 cause so many issues in a major. And what about that bunker shot from Fitzpatrick on 18, and the steel of Zalatoris. This might have been my favourite-ever US Open.

Bloody hell - I just posted this comment here and then saw the actual results.

Well that was a big surprise and in the moment I certainly don’t have speech at hand.
Thanks Jazzman for organising it - it’s a good little comp.

Cheers all

Yeh, it was super. And the second shot to the Par 5 8th, what a super hole. Risk-reward everywhere on that course.

Glad the bloke that won actually played a near flawless final round. Seems a decent guy too.

Well done Tenacious and thanks for running Miles. Burns and Harman….I’m coming over there !!!

Ah well, won the cash in the sweep at the golf club so all good.

Great US Open. Sensational. Right blend of difficulty and scoring capacity. Great course, tight finish. Brilliant.

Ping have blown their sponsorship tactics. Fitzpatrick uses Ping irons and fairway woods. But not a skeric of brand anywhere that I can see.

Do many use Ping on tour?
What is most popular?

Would a single player have different brands for driver/irons/wedges?
Yes they can, Scheffler signed on with TaylorMade a few months ago, prior to that he didn't have an equipment sponsor, meaning he could use a mix of clubs.

Pretty sure that golfers who do have an endorsement can use a couple of different clubs. Their contract manufacturer will stipulate that they have to have a certain amount of their clubs in their bag.

I was reading what Fitzpatrick has in his bag yesterday and found it interesting

Driver - Titleist.
3 & 7 Woods - Ping.
Irons 4 & 5 Ping I20, 6 thru PW Ping S55.
Wedges 52, 56 & 60 deg all Titleist.

Many different shafts in use too. Most of it is double dutch to me.

Yes. A lot of players use a particular driver brand, irons brand, wedges brand, putter and ball. Often a mix. Some use a consistent brand through all clubs, but the majority mix and match. A lot of players view certain manufacturers to be better or more proficient in respect of a particular piece of equipment.

Generally a club sponsor (eg they’re plastered all over your bag) wants you to use their irons as a minimum.

Wow. I suppose they trial so many different setups that they can get the perfect combination of club/shaft etc etc

I've never hit a vokey wedge but loved my old Tietlist driver (have a Taylor Made M1 now)
