Global Warming

I'm not sure whether Morrison should be there or not. He should be doing whatever's best for Australia.

Lots of megafauna though. Life going gangbusters.

So you would excuse Morrison if he doesn't turn up but condemn Xi.

Yep, total inconsistency and flailing around to try and divert attention.

We live in Australia, we are responsible for this country's actions. You can divert all you like but it is well past time we did something about our contribution to global warming, including our exports as we are one of the planet's largest fossil fuel exporters.

He's run away from the Agriculture Report now that it didn't say what he wished it said.
Effects of temperature rise and increase in CO2 concentration on simulated wheat yields in Europe
It was found that effects of higher temperature and higher CO2 concentration were nearly additive and the combination of both led to a yield increase of 1–2 ton ha-1... The effect of doubled CO2 concentration on crop yield was larger at higher temperatures.

Pretty embarrassing really, took all of 7 minutes to mow down the distortion he was attempting there.

He must know we read the articles he posts by now. The only possible conclusion therefore is that he doesn't.

Time to go back to basics I suppose:

So, if you add more greenhouse gases then you enhance the greenhouse effect and the planet warms up.

Simples.

This thread is starting to get out of control.

People would do well to remember the site rules and if you can't:

Post without abusive language
Post without threatening violence
Bait/troll others on the page to get a rise rather than stay on topic
otherwise adhere to the site rules, maybe you can sit in the naughty corner.
If you need a refresher, go here:

Hate to see valuable members of PRE get themselves a temporary suspension or worse for not being able to control
their behaviour.

Thanks for the reminder General. I'm outta this thread. Threats of violence - while completely laughable and cowardly coming from behind a keyboard - show the real character of a person.

As I've said I usually enjoy our debates. I'm not blameless in this either and there are probably more productive things to spend my time on.

Peace out
Been a few years since I enjoyed them. Your posting has taken on an extra dimension of ridicule. Needling someone until you get a reaction seems to be your reason for existence now.

Life will survive anything we do to the environment.

It's survived every catastrophic climate disaster over the last 3.8 billion years.

Call me selfish, but I'd like to keep human life going for a couple of centuries more.

Looking unlikely though.

Given the Indigenous peoples' in this country have been here for at least 30,000 years that would seem to be somewhat inaccurate to say the least.

It's well known that IPCC reports contain statements that do not reflect what is uttered by climate scientists. Several IPCC authors have "crossed the floor" over this issue.

At least Morrison is attending. No Xi. No Putin. Not even the great Jacinda Ardern. Nor the leaders of Japan, Brazil, Mexico or South Africa, among others.
