Always called him Grigga, not Griggsy. Musta been wrong all these years, oh well *smile* happens.
Yep two years at Geelol is more than enough punishment for anyone. Time to bring him home to Punt rd for some proper coaching apprenticeship. Who knows, we might even start our own coaching succession plan for when Dimma needs a refresh.
Could Griggs help us trade Chol to Geecheat for a 4th rounder ?
He'll be in charge of standing up when things aren't right and making change.
He definitely won't be a yes man for Hardwick. Terry Wallace can attest to that.
Hint: Griggs = the trading of Chol at the end of the year quips. It goes back a long way.

We need a top shelf Midfield coach as under the new 6x6x6 and Statue on the Mark rules, the centre bounce engine room is where games are won and lost, more so today than in past years.
We have strong classy players in defence.
We have class players in the forward line but it appears no plan to execute when we rarely win the centre and hence our ball possession becomes questionable. Chaos ball does not work with the new rules which create "keepings off" football. We love the contest, the constant ball ups, congestion. The new rules limit this considerably.
Our weak link is the centre bounce and the consequential centre clearances.
My preferred midfield coach profile is -
An ex AFL premiership midfield player
Has minimum of 2 to 3 years assistant AFL coaching or head coach at VFL, SANFL or WAFL level.
Proven player leadership onfield and at training
Can gain authority through communicating game plans that win centre bounces.
As we have seen in the last 4 years a winning culture is fundamental to premiership success. Therefore an ex player who played at a mediocre performing club rings alarm bells for me.
We are a leading club in the greatest Australian Football League in the land, actually the world, therefore we must attract the best to our coaching panel.
With the right centre bounce control plan, add a few additional grunt midfield players plus a strong ruckman to our class players, and we will be back in the top 4 where we belong........

We are 3rd in play on percentage because the umps call play on against us every time our hair blows sideways in the wind.
We dont need Knights, or Griggs. we need a new barber.
