General Trade Discussion 2022

Colonwood list management has gone from bad to totally *smile* weird. They push Grundypants out the door while still paying $300 k of his hefty salary while bringing in McStay on $650 k. Could have simply kept the Grundypants on at exactly the same cost. Surely pick 27 in this years draft isn't such an exciting and valuable prospect that you go out of your way to *smile* off all your members by dumping an elite ruck for a mediocre forward/ruck.
And to add salt to the wounds go after a crab like Mitchell who doesn’t fit into their game style. I have a feeling Mscraes honeymoon period is well and truly over.

Given our picks will improve with F/S & academy bidding, are we better to package both to get the 1 better pick or hold & see where our 2 picks end up?
My gut feeling is Lemmey & Gruzewski will go in that 30-50 bracket so I don't mind so much if we bundle them to move up the order. I think Knobel could even slide to the rookie draft, I reckon you still get a bite with a late pick. The only concern is 68 isn't worth much, might not move much at all by the time the Ashcroft points come into play.

Good outcome. I'm really keen on Knobel. Maybe we won't take though with both Soldo and Ryan.
I think it pays to have a developing ruck in there, at worst you can trade them as surplus capital. I was just checking Meek's market value & he's valued at a second rounder, this is another reason I rate Francis Jackson so highly, he left a truckload of tradeable players in his last couple of drafts and switched the focus from kicking skills to raw athleticism & speed. The compromise was a few with suspect kicking like Callum Moore but overall he left the squad healthy & brimming with AFL quality players.

From whats being mentioned around the traps would be lucky to get 55 live picks this year
68 could even get as low as 55-56 with all the father sons and academy selections
Ashcroft,Fletcher,Daveyx2,Geelong boys

Bombers might struggle for points if the bids come early enough

I agree we need another developing Ruckman mainly because i only see 1 of Soldo/Nank remaining on the list in 12-24 months time
Nank being Captain it would be Soldo looking to move imo , GWS was an opportunity to move but i doubt the $$$ would have been right.

So we may as well get another in now to have 1-2 years development into him to provide insurance , Knobel appears to have the right assets to fill this role with his size and agility on his stats and your opinion of him.
Does he have any foward craft or is he a Ruck only option

This is the value add I believe he offers, I think there's a bit of Mason Cox there, albeit with slightly less reliable kicking.

What a bs situation Geelong and Brisbane are creating. They’ve over promised to Henry and Dunkley respectively. Particularly Geelong.

For now, neither club has, or is willing to depart, with the necessary collateral to get a fair deal done and now they expect Cwood and the Dogs to just roll over and accept their way unders offers because it’s in the “best interests” of the player.

The problem and difficulty isn’t with Cwood and the Dogs - I’m sure they’d let both go if the player doesn’t want to be there. The problem lies with Geelong and Brisbane who have backed themselves into an under-funded corner.

They probably won’t, but both clubs should tell them to F off and send them into the Drafts and say to each player “Sorry, but this is indicative of the club that you are trying to get to so, sorry, it’s us or the Draft unless they sort their problems out. We’re not carrying the can for the situation that they have created for you.”

Brisbane will probably dip into F1 next year and add it to 21 to finally get it done, but 25 for Henry is absurd.

Turn off trade radio
Scott Lucas's is coming on to talk about his clients
Tipppawoody Stocker Meek & Ratonmygear
Seriously wouldn't you give you player manager license back with that lot.
Especially after them speaking to real player manager in Robbie DeRazio 15 minutes ago.
