General Trade Discussion 2022

I’d imagine the mids in RCD and MartYn would definitely now be gone along with Aarts and possibly Stack
Martyn, and Aarts will be the next out.

RCD and Stack might get 2023 last chance saloon.

Will increase the flexibility with delisting's and trades next year with the likes of others with one year to serve on contracts such as George and Dow.

I think Stack will get one more chance, but I have no idea just a hunch.

The roles reversed here CC you're supposed to be the Brightsider Not Me!! :))

Not really.... how many days since Essendon had a crisis?
Surely they're due to *smile* something else up!
A potential board challenge may be in the works at Essendon with key Bombers figures keen on former club President Paul Little returning to the role according to AFL Media’s Damian Barrett.

The Bombers have been under constant duress since current President David Barham took over in mid-August, with a club-wide external review, failed pursuit of Alastair Clarkson, sacking of Ben Rutten and Andrew Thorburn fiasco keeping the club in the headlines for the wrong reasons.

Barrett believes the controversial appointment and sacking of Andrew Thorburn as CEO may be the straw that breaks the camel’s back as key figures push for Little to take over.

“It (the Thorburn debacle) got people who are connected to that footy club active,” Barrett said on AFL Trade Radio.

“I can tell you that today there’s a lot of people at that footy club wanting Paul Little to return as President of the Bombers.

So do the Kangas snap him up :mhihi
Let’s hope so! Henry is claiming he is HOMESICK and couldn’t settle in Melbourne. Geelong is such a long way away. I reckon he has SHocking advising him. Has refused Collingwood contract and says he’ll go to the draft. Fingers crossed anyone but Geelong grab him.

I'm old school when it comes to rucks, good ones can make a huge difference, a 5 man bench will only increase their worth. I see this area as an achilles heel heading into next year & can see us being exploited when we come against the best in the competition. For this reason I'm frosty about locked & loaded grandstanding, I also think there's a few clubs knocking on the door of the 8 who could easily supplant Richmond next year. Soldo isn't untouchable but his contribution is being undersold & trading him means we have weakened that area. Ryan is a big lump of a lad & is showing promise but I'm not so sure he would do well against the elite big men of the competition. That in isolation could wipe out any advantage we have in the area of clearances. Underestimate the importance rucks at your peril.
Well we got the best of both world now
Keep Soldo and get Taranto & Hopper plus

How bad are Collingwood in the management of their list. First Treloar and now Grundy.

And another little gem.

They see themselves in the premiership frame and need a key forward. So they sign McStay for $600K per year.

Brisbane then go and get Gunston on the cheap.

I know who won that one, and it ain't the Pies.

Colonwood list management has gone from bad to totally *smile* weird. They push Grundypants out the door while still paying $300 k of his hefty salary while bringing in McStay on $650 k. Could have simply kept the Grundypants on at exactly the same cost. Surely pick 27 in this years draft isn't such an exciting and valuable prospect that you go out of your way to *smile* off all your members by dumping an elite ruck for a mediocre forward/ruck.

Henry saying he’ll walk to the National Draft if he doesn’t get traded to Geelong.
That'll be worth the popcorn. It's not as if he's just gotta try n sneak past 3 or 4 clubs to get to the Moggies. All 17 other clubs will be looking n thinking what if.
