General Trade Discussion 2022

Been hearing comments n reading articles for weeks n weeks about how all the Moggies players are happy to take less money for the chance to play at a successful club n play finals.
Nek minnit the Moggies honcho's are importing a spud on $1.6 mill for two years of elite Magoos footy. Wonder how all those players on minimal contracts will be feeling over the next few seasons?
All those superstar players got paid well more than beer money during their careers, they've got their flag n are old n hovering around retirement so they won't really care much. Reckon the mid aged n improving youngsters are gunna be having a serious look at the shekels when their new contracts come up.
I will laugh if they have a Cap squeeze in the next couple of years because of this.
This type of deal was 'Richmond 101' between 1998-2005.
But not under Gale/Balme's watch would we ever consider paying for kid worth a qtr of that money purely on the back of a picking up pick 7 in a very unpredictable draft.. Twomey said after pick 1, yes pick 1 it's impossible to guess the rest.
I heard very early on we would not consider picking up Bowes.
We have just become a real & strong football club

Geelong think there shitt dosent stink now
After Dalhouse Rohan Higgins Stevens Smith Clark and many others it finally paid off this year. I think the season was more a success not due to the list but the game plan overhaul.
Pick 19 off us worked a treat to secure Holmes they better pick 7 isn't a Rabbit
Because it might turn out to be very expensive trade..
They will use pick 7 to get multiple picks to get in Brunh & Henry

With Geelong favorites to get pick 7 off GC.
They need multiple picks to get Brunh and Henry.
Pick 12 & 30 for pick 7.
Pick 7 for Hopper
Pick 19 & next yrs 1st for Taranto

Reckon this trade period is shaping into 1 where both the top 2 picks are traded. I think GC and GWS will end up with picks 1 and 2, I'm just not sure in which order. If I'm the Giants I'm trying to find a way to keep Pick 3 and get Pick 1 (we will be a big part of that).

Draft Cadman and Sheezel. They don't need the mids, but their forward line needs a big improvement.

If North flick Jed Anderson, I’d have a good look.

After this Clarkson shambles, I don't blame him. Not lolnorf's fault in this case, but you can see he's pissed off with these issues at the club.
If North lose Clarkson and HF then they should shut the gates.

According to the internet a couple of hours ago it sounds like we have landed Taranto for our top two picks 12 and 19 and now we have to go after contracted Hopper. Soldo seems to be part of that separate negotiation

Buckley and boyd served out their first contract didnt they?

Horne-francis is setting a precedent after year 1 that completely undermines the draft,

Doesnt it?

I think Buckley did one year at Bears at that stage I think it was only 1 years required to play at the club before leaving, the rule got changed after, I cant recall how long after but the 2 year clause came after.

All issues of lol norf, clarko, etc aside,

Whats the point of free agency,

Let alone the draft,

If a kid can nominate their destination 12 months after being drafted?
