1980 Richmond v Geelong qual final 14.11 to 11.5 flag 3
2017 Richmond v Geelong qual final 16.18 to 15.15 flag 4
2019 Richmond v Geelong qual final 12.13 to 9.12 flag 5

That 2017 score isn't right.
 
Beating geelong in finals while winning flags is such a bonus, especially now with the salty one coaching them.

That's my first really clear memory of footy. Listening to that game at my grandparents' place. I'd seen games and have scratchy memories of games beforehand but that one is indelible in my mind.

Got a Cats fan on FB that is still dining out on thier dynasty, funnily enough he said after we lost the PF last yr that not going back to back isn't a dynasty..... Tjier supporters make us beating them all the more satisfying.

The only thing that would better it would be beating them in the GF. I *smile* hate them. Always have.

Agree though not sure i could handle the stress and the thought of losing to them in a GF. I was a mess at half time of this year's Prelim.

It was tense, stakes were high. Lose and I'm on a plane home the following Monday and work Tuesday. Win, stay another week and have the time of my life. Celebrated hard each goal after half time.

Yeah the Prelim was stressful. Went outside at half time to have a smoke. Hadn't had one since half time of last years prelim.

The pain doesn't stop there

1921 Richmond V Geelong Semi final 16.19 115 to 6.18.54 Flag 6 ( 2nd chronologically)
1934 Richmond V Geelong Semi final 19.20 134 to 7.8 50 Flag 7 ( 4th )

We also beat Geelong in the 1931 semi but they had their one moment of GF glory against us in beating us in the GF.
