For all the people lamenting the chronic stupidity, I’m with you.
It hurts. To a point.
Because then you realise the mistakes, the howlers, the brain fades, the critical errors, they all come from a lack of confidence.
This team doesn’t have the aura it once had. Some players are rickety shells of themselves.
Soldo. Nankervis. Cotchin. Riewoldt. Edwards.
The senior core, the players that are supposed to inspire confidence and poise, they’re done.
The talent is still there. We have some terrific young players. The system still holds up. The effort and will is there in spades.
But the belief has gone. In its place, panic. Stupidity. Hesitation.
Teams who don’t believe don’t belong in September and that gives me a strange kind of consolation.

Agree, but not about trading him…he’s an elite full back. In 2020 I was hoping he would eventually get to Rance’s level, which he still could. He’s been thrown end to end and has injuries this year, as he did last year. He’s still a blue chip, you don’t trade those.

We probably lost this at the selection table again. Soldo shouldn’t have played. If we were playing Balta forward he could relieve in the ruck.

Soldo nothing with his game tonight. Went toe to toe with Darcy & kicked a GOAL. Dimma has got to bite the bullet as we are not going to win the flag with Sonsie, Ralphsmith, Cumberland , Edwards. Titch 300 then medi sub. We need a couple of hard nuts Stack & Mansell in. Balta just aint going to make it up front so Dimma just has to push him back.

My comment was in relation to instructions to take your kick late in the game rather than playing on. Clearly that’s what Balta was doing

Was it 30 seconds when Noah had the ball? Sometimes the flogs count to 15 and call play on.
Agree Stack and Mansell plus MRJ…I think Ralphsmith will make it as a player. But were we watching the same match with regards to Cumberland? He’s looked great every game he played and tonight playing a very hard role with Lynch out.
Sonsie is a Rolls Royce, you can see it, but he’s a first year player. I think he stays in the side for mine
