GAME DAY Tiges V Eagles

Happy to play them again, with their full strength squad, when we have Prestia, Lynch, Nank and Dave back.
Nup anywhere but Perth. When they are full strength they are Superman in Perth but they are Clark Kent away. Not worried about them anywhere but Perth.

That was our chance tonight. We blew it bad.

We’ve got Saints, Suns, Pies.

We need to do what Geethrow do all the time: win those easier games, take the heat off when things aren’t going perfectly, get under cover, re-set, and go again.

Geethrow have done this for 15 plus years. When everyone thinks they’re gone, they sneak back into contention.

We need to do the same.
At least that R18 game against the Bears is at home AND a must win for us going by what they did at the Gabba. Just hope this Dopey Dan doesn't do another lockdown, otherwise, play in empty stadiums.

We were missing a tall in defence today and it showed. We had the chance to blood Miller but blew it as his big body would have been useful. Without Broady and Houli our defence was well down .
Disagree. There was only 1 tall forward that did well for West Coast. West Coast could hardly miss a shot, they had only 8-3 at 3/4 time. All 3 behinds were rushed. We were slaughtered in the last starting at the ruck contest. We still had ourselves in a commanding position in the last but made way too many mistakes. Playing Miller would have been a huge risk.

Its hard to get angry at Dusty after the last 4 years but I agree, he made some ordinary decisions. When he took that mark through the middle and signalled to slow everything down, he should have looked straight away and see we had 2 or 3 racing through on goal, he needed to get the ball over the top of their defence and we'd have run onto it.

The indecision when he kicked to George with what 90 seconds of so left on the clock, he had a player to his left who could have taken a mark, but scrubbed the kick through to George and he gave it back to them (again should have been looking for a mark), and then that kick from what 60m out with 15 seconds to go.

A bit more composure from the great man and we could have won, but we were only in that position due to our lack of ability to compete in the air throughout the 4th.

Yes, he had someone on his left but George why bomb it straight to hurn with 90 secs left, we were in front after all.
Dusty at least tried to make things happen, where was the invisible captain,. 12 disposals

We lost because we turned it over which resulted in gifted goals to the eagles. 2 goals gifted by short who gave away a 50 and vlustuin's turnover out of defence, both goals. Even that last play broad gets outmuscled by Ryan, he wins that contest we win the game as there was under a minute to go.

I was pretty proud of that effort.
We didn't see the game out but this is not an ordinary season (again).
We tried hard & fell short. It is what it is.

it could be a good year to win the flag from 6th.

with 3/4 of the top 4 Vic sides,

the odds of a MCG prelim are high.

I think we'll waltz into the 8, but have grieved the Top 4,

after having it in our grasp about an hour ago.

We aren’t cooked, Jesus Christ.

We just aren’t making top four, that’s all.

Looked at the ladder today and it pained me to see Geelong boring everyone on their way to third position.

Best we can hope is a home EF against the mob who just heisted is.
We are playing for 5th most likely now.

We must do everything we can to get above the Eagles and Port or we are in for an EF reaming to the joy of all and sundry.

10 goal win minimum in each of these games. Get our percentage up and set ourselves for a home EF. I think top 4 is gone. Can’t see us winning 9 in a row in the form we’re in. Even then it may not be enough.

Get angry Tigers and put these *smile* teams to the sword. Stop *smile* around!

After cooling off, hoping it's the loss to shake up the club in time for the business end. Think it could give the players extra incentive to not let other games slip from here on in

Why didn’t Edwards have a shot from 50? He’s a long kick so would have covered the trip. Thought it was a poor decision to pass and not take some time off the clock and have a shot.

Are any pubs open? Might go out in Richmond gear and see if anyone wants a punch in the mouth.

Coming back from injury. Has looked it the last 2 weeks. His pressure level looks down.

Yes yes yes. Disappointing conservative selections are really hurting us now. Another tall frees up broad to run, caddy on a wing *smile*!, Rioli *smile*!, aarts *smile*!, castagna *smile*! I don’t get it

If we had've slotted goals which we would've normally kicked we would've won. But then no lesson learnt. It would've been a misleading win. We need to wake up! Hopefully this loss will shake the club.

Two weeks of barely playing more than 25 minutes of Richmond football against average sides.

Bye at the right time for us, we are playing very average.

Got we deserved tonight.

Sliding doors moments. Castagna kicks the ball off the ground against Port and Dusty shows a little more composure tonight and we are 9-4 going into the bye

And looking at it again Kennedy’s mark had a heap of green turf about it too
Thought the same.

Maximum 10m kick that was very dubious. Spineless umpiring with the noise of affirmation, or whatever they call umpire corruption in the west

Balta watching Kennedy run off him
Balts gave him way too much space. Kennedy didn’t take a contested mark all night. He’s a great kick. You can’t give him 5m all the time, he’ll punish you.
not sure it’s season over stuff yet but the desire doesn’t appear to be at the level required. Maybe they wanna win one from 8th?
