GAME DAY Tiges V Eagles

they have a few key outs in the middle; Kelly and Shuey.

And no McGovern is huge; he is their Dusty, in a different way

and Kennedy doesnt have a great first-up record from memory.

We will need a really even spread of contributors I reckon, plus some dusty and $hai magic.
On paper their teams strength is definitely in the forward half , however I think our back half is all over there’s , even though we’re giving away a lot of hieght . Massive games needed by Georgie and Aarts

8 point game. Our defence will be the key here. We can’t make it a shoot out.

We also need to work Natanui over. Pickett cannot play in the ruck. Chol and CCJ to work in tandem.

The other key match up is Yeo on Martin. Yeo will tag him. No doubt. If Martin can win this battle then we get the points.

Likewise I am not sure we can win this. If I am correct this game was to be played at the G..
Fate has declared it be played at the Eagles home ground where the crowd is worth a goal or two at least.
Should Nick Nat, Darling and Kennedy fire up we are in big trouble.
Hoping for the best but not at all confident.
What.
This game was always in the west.
Its a pity we didn't get Port at the G, that's the team we struggle to play at home

Lots of negativity here! I reckon the Eagles are seriously wobbly. They move the ball slowly and are highly predictable, save, perhaps for Ryan and Cripps in the forward half. We gave them a jolly good touch up last year, albeit on a neutral ground, and I don't think much has changed since then. I expect a comfortable win.

2 tiger games in 2weeks.
Weather is nice, bit cold, but ok.
Cannot see a reason why we won't win this one comfortably. Played here last week, Bombers gave us heaps, our game suits the ground.

We certainly haven’t got the luck of the draw this year. Got swans while they were up (and before rules got tightened to disallow 5m passes) and getting eagles with their players coming back. somehow get port away again but minnows at home.

Bookies have us slight favourites. I think they would be as worried about our forward line as we are about theirs. Midfield we are probably ahead at ground level but well behind in ruck. Makes for an interesting match.

if we can get the (fair) run Essendon had with the umpires over there we will win comfortably. We won’t get the run that Essendon had with the umpires. Umpires prove me wrong. (Note 20 years since eagles had a negative free kick balance over a season)

What size crowd are they tipping over there @HR?

Not too worried. Eagles aren't what they were a couple of years ago, not even last year.

I reckon they'll win the first quarter but after some magnet shuffling by Dimma, we'll pull away and win by 4 goals.

I am dam nervous and not confident about this game - something in my bones tells me we will come up short.

The bummers chanced a much weakened side that then lost two players early and could only make their move in the 4th qtr where they ran over the top of them.

Can‘t see any rain from the BoM radar. If Nick Nat is allowed to influence a qtr or two then I reckon our defence may be in strife. We ain’t playing anywhere near our best and I don’t think we have yet to put in a 4 qtr effort.

Really hope we get up, Jack gets 4 goals and reaches 700 but I will be surprised if we get there tbh.

Really? I'm the total opposite, I think our run and spread will be too much for them. Yes, their forward line looks a worry but the game will be won in the midfield.
The eagle's backline also looks iffy, surprised they rushed back Duggan.

Last 2 weeks we have been building nicely, kicking 17 and 19 goals respectively. The eagles I would say have been quite inconsistent.
Eagles have elite kicking skills, allow them to pinpoint passes and they'll cut you up but our pressure always seems to overwhelm them in the heat of battle, tiges by 27 points.

They are not talking it up, so my guess will be an average turn out.

Tough one for families, people gotta work tomorrow, no holiday here. We had it last week. Late notice for game, funny time for us to suit you mob etc..

Should work well for tigers though, our 5000 will sound better if they only have 30000. The noise of affirmation will be at it lowest influence ever. Hopefully.

Go tigers

back to back toughest assignments in footy,

is more than twice as hard as just the toughest assignment in footy.

Im actually not so confident today. very rare for me.

maybe its because I caught the red eye from Perth a month or so ago, and cramped all the next day? Im concerned about 20 hours on a plane in a week

If we can pull it off, I think we'll finish top 4.
By game time they will have spent 15 hours on a plane in nine days. With expert recovery, massages on tap etc. Then they fly five hours home and have a fortnight off.

We'll get shafted by the umps, nothing surer, but I breathed a sigh of relief when I saw Eagles life member Dean Margetts do the Freo game.

As long as NicNat doesn't absolutely destroy us, we should win by 2-6 goals, depending how many gimmes the umps hand them.

the game will be won in the midfield.
I agree, he who kicks the most from their onballers wins.
Unless of course Castagna turns it on. Then it's just a question of, by how much?

We have the one commodity that really scares the Eagles, pace across the middle.

This game gets won by the team that wins the middle and moves it quickly and effectively forward.

I know people are focusing on Nicnat, but we have consistently shown the ability to win games with the opposition ruckman on top. We will go a long way to winning if we shut down Kelly IMO.

No Kelly influence, and they will really struggle to get the ball and then get if forward effectively.
